Deutsche Bank Research is responsible for economic and market analysis within the Deutsche Bank Group and covers asset allocation, fixed income markets, and all major industry sectors. Our research analysts analyze relevant market trends, highlights risks and opportunities, and act as consultants for the bank, its clients, and stakeholders. Our mission is to deliver high-quality independent analysis that helps investors understand markets and promotes public debate.
This position is for a role within the bank’s Foreign Exchange Research Team, with a dedicated focus on commodity currencies and energy commodities.

Your key responsibilities:
- Conduct timely, insightful analysis on markets in Asia with a particular focus on commodities including crude oil markets, gold, natural gas and thermal coal.
- Analyze economic developments from macro data releases, capital flows, and central bank and government policies to generate investment and hedging recommendations for Deutsche Bank’s clients
- Write for regional and global publications on investment opportunities, trading recommendations and market themes in Asian and commodity markets
- Build detailed models that provide an understanding of currency valuation and forecasting
- Present ideas and recommendations to the bank’s clients through multiple channels, including marketing trips to various geographies
- Support key internal stakeholders, including Senior Management in the Investment Bank and Global Research, for topics related to Asia
Your skills and experience:
- Masters degree with 10+ years experience in commodities research with a particular focus on precious and base metals
- Demonstrated experience working on research papers on commodity markets and their interplay with financial markets, macroeconomics, and geopolitical affairs
- Strong quantitative skills set and the ability to create complex, yet easily understandable financial models and charts
- Good interpersonal skills, and strong written and verbal communication in English
- Strong writing and presentation skills and the ability to express quantitative conclusions in both written and spoken form
- Desire to take initiative, express intellectual curiosity, propose new ideas, deliver on independent projects, and excel in a fast-paced environment
Role is required to be performed on-site at One Raffles Quay office. Relevant vaccination requirements may apply.
