Job Purpose

This is a role in SMBC’s Private Wealth Group and it includes supporting the establishment of credit and risk policies and responsibility for private wealth related credit products including structured lending (single stock financing), Lombard lending, mortgage lending and insurance related lending. The role will entail write up of credit proposals , working with the head of credit solutions to establishing the framework for such credit products including Loan-to-value (LTV) and exposure management on various types of collateral and monitoring of the credit exposures. The role also involves review of structured loan documentation and continuous updating and development of process manuals for such lending.

The role requires the person to work closely with various stakeholders including private wealth RMs (both in Nikko and SMBC), credit risk, legal, operations, compliance, planning, internal audit in the region, relevant departments in SMBC Head Office as well as group companies such as SMBC Nikko Securities.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the Head of credit solutions to design, implement and maintain risk control and monitoring parameters across SMBC Group (including policies, control standards, risk exposure limits and other control levers) to maintain the risk profile of the portfolio in line with risk appetite
• Work with the risk and legal teams to evaluate individual lending proposals and to ensure support from an end-to-end view, i.e., credit evaluation, write-up of credit proposals, loan approval, documentation and post disbursal monitoring.
• Support the launch of initiatives such as new product approvals, systematic monitoring and control initiatives, collateral management, loan to value management and risk appetite framework
• Partner with senior management teams to deliver financial objectives, prioritize and drive execution of key initiatives, and ensure cohesive teamwork across the businesses and functions
• Implement and execute both regular and ad-hoc stress tests as required by regulators and internal parameters
• Coordinate and work closely with Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Credit, Planning and other control functions including SMBC Head Office and group companies such as SMBC Nikko securities to enhance the cooperation and capabilities

Job Requirements

• University Degree
• A strong background in private bank credit and passion to establish guidelines, monitoring control, system, collateral management and risk grading.
• 10+ years in performing similar roles in the APAC financial industry is preferred with emphasis given to candidates who have had exposure to structured lending, establishing framework for new products and driving portfolio management and monitoring in private wealth business.
• Experience in credit analysis and approval process, credit policies, documentation, stress testing, processes and controls, monitoring, regulatory interpretation, and risk appetite.
• Proven track record and accountability providing clarity in complex problems

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Responsible for managing Business Partners and overseeing their work in providing commercial and financial insights to senior management of respective segment/platform

Job Summary

Responsibilities:
• RM would be responsible in covering all Japanese clients operating in South East Asia as a Regional Account Manager (RAM)

• Liaise with Legal/external counsel/CRC in preparation and execution of non standard complex transactions along with product partners.

Account Management & portfolio quality

• Along with the product partner, push for line utilization of complex and structured transactions. Oversee the CCG in ensuring high utilization of regular WC facilities.
• Review Failed Trade status, EAR, ASTAR CCRT, etc with the CA to ensure discipline and quality in portfolio
• Review the excess/past due situation with CCG to ensure they are regularized and also facilitate approvals wherever required.
• Review Risk Triggers and Covenants Reports (only in case of breach/defer/waiver), Client Profitability (Utilization and Activity Reports),
• Review negative ER, low RoRWA, tailed accounts.
• Review and monitor the client profitability to ensure there are no revenue leakages.
• Attend various internal or external sales/ non sales meetings like EAR, CAT, MTM calls, Portfolio Review Meeting and convene the consortium meetings where we are the lead bank.

• Overall responsible and accountable for the credit quality of the assigned/acquired portfolio.

We are now seeking an experienced professional to join the team.

Our PF – Power & Infrastructure is responsible for the project finance business in Asia, excluding Japan. There are four sections in PF, namely Power & Infrastructure, Natural Resources, Agency and Credit. This position reports to the Head of Power & Infrastructure.

Your key roles & responsibilities include:

· Initiating Project Finance marketing activities in the Asia Pacific region

· Providing lead in financial advisory and major debt arrangements

· Preparing of pitch books, advisory reports and marketing materials to promote business in both advisory and lending functions, and presenting analysis and findings to clients

· Developing relationships and maintaining strong networks with clients for new or future business opportunities

· Conducting relevant due diligence to mitigate credit risks and preparing credit applications to obtain credit approvals by coordinating with various related stakeholders

· Cash flow analysis to examine robustness of project economics in a range of scenarios as well as proposing of appropriate debt pricing levels to manage risk profile and adhere to profitability guidelines

What you should have:
