The Headteacher and Governors of this happy and successful school are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Level 2 teaching assistant to support a child in lower KS2 who has an EHCP for global developmental delays. You will deliver high quality support for service users, managing existing and future risks through assessment, and creating plans which ensure the individual needs of service users are appropriately considered.

You will assist service users to engage with support services provided by both statutory and voluntary agencies, ensuring that the client is appropriately supported and therefore able to contribute actively in the community.

You will provide advice and expertise to partner agencies and stakeholders to promote the service and represent the rights and needs of the vulnerable residents of Manchester.

You will also have the skills to:

• Work collaboratively with other health and social care professionals, maximise wider community assets and individuals, their family, friends and advocates to provide person centred support. 

• Assist the Registered Manager to maintain the Unit and the overall environment ensuring it is furnished, equipped and cleaned to the required standard, with responsibility for assessing, reviewing and resolving Health and Safety issues. 

• Continuous management and development of staff line managed through regular supervisions and All About You sessions. 

• Create and maintain all person centred plans, risk management, health action plans, pen pictures etc for individual citizens. 

• Lead in the quality assurance and review of individual citizen’s files ensuring they meet the standards set by CQC and the Services Quality Assurance Framework. 

• Be responsible for the ordering, administering, recording and stock control of medication in line with policies and procedure. 

• Ensure that financial regulations are adhered to when dealing with citizens finances. 

• Lead in providing a person centred service that offers independence and a fuller community life, developing and maintaining the delivery of community based activities that promote their independence and wellbeing, while ensuring quality and cost effective services. 

• Ensure the provision of a stimulating environment for all customers and encourage their participation in the running of the Unit.

The Role
To do everything possible to ensure the team provides an efficient and effective service to the residents of Bolton. This involves detailed assessment of need (Care Act) and effective asset-based support planning, taking into account available resources, universal and voluntary services. Part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust, Spring Brook School caters for KS3 pupils with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.

Spring Brook Upper School is a unique place where pupils aged 11-14 are nurtured and developed to encourage independence and skills for life. Their social, emotional and mental health needs are at the forefront of our work. We offer a broad and balanced curriculum which suits our learners’ needs incorporating core subjects, vocational subjects and living skills. The school also operates specialised intervention groups where pupils can focus on the development of a range of skills from social, emotional and mental health to a range of academic subjects.

Due to the complex needs of our students, high levels of emotional and physical resilience are needed in dealing with challenging behaviour. However, the knowledge that our work is having a positive impact in helping the young people to grow and work towards independence brings great reward.

We currently have a vacancy for an experienced intervention and pastoral support worker to join our Positive Relationships Team. Our Positive Relationships Team work with individuals or small groups to provide support with self and co-regulation and to deliver therapeutic interventions to support the mental health and well-being of pupils. Our team supports pupils using a trauma informed approach with an unconditional positive regard for all pupils.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate how they meet the following essential criteria:

• Sound experience of supporting pupils who present with challenging behaviour and complex needs, preferably within an SEMH setting
• Experience of supporting pupils to overcome barriers to their personal, social or learning development from a pastoral perspective
• Experience of intervening to support pupils in crisis or affected trauma by using either emotional or educational support.
• A nurturing, empathetic and holistic approach to behaviour management

About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to work within Rochdale’s successful Virtual School for Cared for Children (Looked After Children). You will be joining a small team at an exciting time as our educational work with children in the council’s care is now extended to offer strategic support to those children with a social worker (e.g. Children In Need, those on Child Protection Plans) as well as those in Kinship Care.

About you

You will be providing support, information, advice and guidance on the educational needs of Cared for Children to schools, carers and social workers. You will closely monitor their achievement and attendance and make sure we deliver high quality Electronic Personal Education Plans (ePEPs). The Role
To support families who are International New Arrivals with accessing school places. Completing school application forms for children and carrying out initial needs assessments. Supporting children with their transition into schools across Bolton, assessing children’s English language skills by carrying out EAL assessments and providing EAL support to children in lessons when they start school.

About You
You will be someone with experience of working with EAL children in a classroom setting with an understanding and working knowledge of strategies to support children who are new to English. A person who can plan activities and deliver them to groups of EAL children who do not speak any English or on a 1 to 1 basis using a range of EAL strategies and be able to assess their competency in English. The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint two experienced and enthusiastic Hub IT Service Managers to join our dedicated IT department and manage a group of first line IT Technicians within a hub of schools, as follows:

Hub IT Service Manager West Hub will be responsible for the following schools;

Regular travel between sites is a key requirement of the role.

The role will involve providing proactive and reactive hardware, software and peripheral support to all staff, students, Trustees/Governors, visitors and third parties in line with school/academy and Trust requirements.

The successful candidate will ideally have proven experience working in an ICT helpdesk/ICT support role, ideally in an education establishment and understand the diverse and wide range of tasks that are involved with supporting teaching staff, administrative staff and pupils.

Detailed knowledge of the latest Microsoft Windows Operating Systems & Microsoft Office packages is essential including the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of hardware and software issues.
