About the role

When it comes to generating stock, maximising value, and building customer loyalty, we put a lot of trust in our retail staff. Our Sales Assistants work alongside the management team and volunteers to drive shop performance. As a Sales Assistant you will be involved in all aspects of a customer focussed role such as:

Ensuring highest standard of customer service
Achieving maximum sales
Assisting in all store operating procedures such as sorting donations, stock rotation, deliveries, merchandising, pricing, and shop-floor replenishment
Liaising with E-Commerce team to maximise online sales
As a Keyholder, you will be responsible for the store when there isn't a manager on duty, and this may involve lone working. Therefore, applicants must be 18+ years old.

This position is for 35 hours per week

About you

Previous experience in retail is not essential. However, the desire to achieve the absolute best in customer service is. You will have the ability to work collaboratively with others and be comfortable guiding the activity of volunteer team members.

Our Store Managers lead by example - making bold decisions and taking action if things are not working. You will have the passion and leadership skills to motivate a team of staff and volunteers, encouraging them to bring new ideas and to build their knowledge of the BHF. Great customer service is essential to maximise income as is the sourcing and merchandising of products and understanding all cost-effective income streams, with omni-channel and online being priority to deliver our retail proposition.

About the role

Our Stockroom Assistants work collaboratively with the store team and volunteers to ensure the efficient running of the store and the warehouse. It is a fun, fast-paced environment where everyone works as a team. You will be responsible for handling and moving the deliveries of furniture and appliances that are coming into the store from the vans. You will ensure that all products meet the company’s quality standards. It can be hard work, with lots of heavy lifting, but no two days are the same, and you'll find it really rewarding helping to fund lifesaving research.

You will work with the Stockroom Manager to ensure the shop floor is always well stocked, working in accordance with all safety regulations, promoting safety and wellbeing. You will be given lots of autonomy and will strive to continually build your knowledge of the BHF.

This position is for 35 hours and includes weekends on a rota basis. You will join the team on a 3 month contract.
