Job Summary You will support the Senior Quality Manager in the clinical governance and risk management of your area. Be the first point of escalation for any quality failures, requiring you to evaluate, identify and instruct on corrective actions. Coordinate and manage audits, complaints, incidents, employee training, quality improvement and assurance, equipment inventory and maintenance through the Quality Management System (QMS). Lead and liaise with external inspectors/ assessors from regulatory bodies such as UKAS, MHRA and verify the completion of corrective action as required by the reports. Provide leadership and day-to-day direction to Quality Officers; and help, advise, support and mentor laboratory employees to ensure an effective QMS is in operation. Act as QPulse administrator and ensure appropriate training is delivered for your service line. Key Responsibilities Act as primary source of advice, guidance, knowledge and best practice in quality management for your service line(s). Review quality audits and establish necessary action to be implemented including use of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), ensuring all Information Governance (IG) requirements are met. Maintain standards of conduct required by the HCPC to practice. Support Clinical and Operational leads in the strategic development and service improvement of the analytical service and, from a quality perspective, advise on the implementation of new techniques, equipment, assays and processes including all verification and validation work. Monitor, report and action errors, hazards, and incidents logged in the CAPA module of Q-Pulse. Provide support for Senior Quality Manager in serious incident investigations. Lead in the investigation of all other incidents, ensuring corrective actions are reported in Q-Pulse and other relevant software. Support in the development and implementation of Business Continuity and Serious Incidents Plans where necessary for your service line(s). Oversee and develop resources for the provision of training for colleagues in quality procedures and investigations or as part of onboarding activity, such as induction. Communicate findings of service failure or serious incidents and use instances like these as opportunities to teach and develop others through your experience. Oversee quality audit schedule and document review compliance. Providing regular updates to Senior Quality Manager and compile Annual Quality Report, including Operational Performance data and present at Service and Governance, Risk and Quality meetings. Compile and maintain risk register in conjunction with Clinical and Operational leads. Oversee EQA and IQC performance and ensure corrective action has been taken. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality requirements of regulatory directives, accreditation bodies, and local management including: Care Quality Commission UKAS Synnovis policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Any other body in area of responsibility. Develop and regularly review relevant quality policies and documents, including SOPs, COSHH and risk assessments in line with the ISO 15189 standard. Ensure all quality policies and documents are fit for purpose and implemented for your service line(s). Collaborate with colleagues and senior managers to ensure consistency in the delivery of Quality Management, including playing a leading role in the development of best practices and new ways of working. Provide day-to-day direction to and organisation of Quality Officer in your area, ensuring that standards are met. Demonstrate professionalism, patience and empathy when explaining highly complex subjects, and in particular when communicating with people who do not share same level of knowledge or understanding. Attend and chair regular departmental meetings, as quality representative and contribute to effective communication within the department providing expert insight. Deputise for the Senior Quality Manager including attendance at meetings, as required. What is the Role

SSEN Transmission has a fantastic opportunity for Business Assurance Manager to join our Risk & Assurance team. The Risk & Assurance team in SSEN Transmission proactively identify and assess enterprise risk and controls to deliver strategic priorities and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations through coordinated assurance activities.

The main purpose of the role is to provide assurance to the Transmission Executive Committee (TEC) that governance arrangements and business control environments are effective. This is achieved through the identification, approval and delivery of assurance activity and controls testing ensuring business and regulatory compliance is maintained. The job holder will work closely with Transmission leaders and their extended teams to provide internal assurance that processes and procedures are effective to manage their respective business areas and compliance obligations ensuring they meet governance arrangements in relation to legislative and regulatory requirements.

To do this, the job holder will work closely with external auditors, internal audit functions, department leads and subject matter experts to support the four lines of defence model ensuring that the Transmission business operates in a complaint manner through, auditing, risk identification and adherence to regulatory requirements. The role holder will take a substantive role in the annual MD Letter of Assurance process and integrated group assurance programme (IGAP).

The key duties & responsibilities include:

- Effectively scoping, planning and delivering assurance assessments throughout the business, engaging with relevant stakeholders on a risk-based approach to identify areas of concern and therefore reducing risk exposure and enhancing opportunities, capturing these in clear, concise and actionable outputs.

- Developing and delivering regular monitoring of critical business processes to assure on-going effective controls are in place and obligations met, using effective analysis and reporting of relevant data to follow-up on areas of non-conformance with stakeholders.

- Undertaking consultancy or advisory type assignments with business stakeholders, providing guidance on matters such as effective risk management, compliance best practice or obligation applicability.

About the role

This role exists to provide Logistics, Training and Compliance management for bpMS sea staff and line management of the logistics team. This includes recruitment, training and development, employee relations, chairmanship of the ‘Training Working Group’, and compliance with the relevant laws. In doing so, the incumbent will be encouraged to work closely with the Crewing Team, as well as establish rapport and engage sea staff through ship visits and other sea-staff forums. The role is also accountable for ensuring that officers supplied by bp Maritime Services (Singapore) (bpMSS) are placed on board with all the accurate prerequisites including medical and training course requirements.

Key accountabilities

• Responsible for all team people management requirements.
• Handle the development and training requirements for the fleet and measure their efficiency through various feedback mechanisms. Provide advice on all training issues including the application of industry best process and company policies and procedures.
• Run and lead logistical crewing activities to enable officers’ safe joining and departure from assigned vessels under normal and emergency conditions and appointment to training courses and any other agreed activities.

• Lead and personally coordinate training requirements for the fleet by engaging with TWG/bpS SMEs /Crewing Leads to ensure training is appropriate, effective, and maintained to the appropriate standards.
• Support disciplinary procedures for crewing tagged officers as the need arises in conformance with the Seafarer’s Employment Agreement 2 for sea staff.
• Deliver the Learning and Development strategy and all line management activities related to training of bpMS sea staff and cadets.
• Ensure compliance with external and Internal stakeholders for bpMS Singapore such as MLC audits, Internal/external audits, MPA licence to recruit and place people on board.
• Provide efficient management of cost and budget for all activities directly related to Training, Logistics, and development of sea-going officers.

People Management
