A 27 month fixed term contract (earliest completion 2 years 1 day) training position designed to provide the trainee with the experience, knowledge, skills and behaviours to be able to qualify and register as a Pharmacy Technician.
The post holder must have a commitment to meeting the General Pharmaceutical Council’s Initial Education and Training Standards and Apprenticeship standards. Blended learning is provided throughout workplace rotations and distance learning and study by our training
provider Buttercups Training.
We are looking for our next cohort of Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician Apprentices.
There are various roles available including Cross-sector partnership working and Aseptic Dispensing.
Working under the direction of registered Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians within multidisciplinary teams, Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician Apprentices will assist in the provision and preparation of medicines to meet the needs of all patients.
You will be required to demonstrate compassion and be patient focused with excellent communication skills. The ability to work efficiently and accurately, pay attention to detail and be able to integrate into multiple teams is essential.
You will need to be highly committed to achieve the Integrated Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship. You will need to demonstrate excellent work/study/life balance skills and be very self-motivated.
You will benefit from the full support of an Educational Supervisor, practice supervisors, clinical supervisors and mentors along with the Educational provider’s tutors and pastoral support throughout the Apprenticeship.
Due to the rotational nature of placements, candidates must be willing and able to travel between sites.
Cross-sector positions require a car and business insurance.

CHFT Pharmacy have successfully trained and supported Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians Apprenticeships since 2008.
How will we help your training role?
We will support you with a quality induction to all areas of practice, you will be allocated an educational supervisor, workplace training supervisor and a team of mentors with a range of Pharmacy and therapeutics expertise and knowledge. We will also provide a range of e-learning opportunities provided as part of your Trust and educational provider training. You will be allocated protected off the job training and as part of our experienced team of Pharmacy Technicians and Clinical Pharmacists you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge, behaviours and skills with support from your colleagues.
You will have an individual training plan designed to meet the requirements of the course but also your own individuals needs based on your current experience and skills.
Trainees who successfully complete the two year apprenticeship will be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council and practice as a registered Pharmacy Technician. Although every effort will be made to provide a substantive position at the end of training, this cannot be guaranteed.

As a Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician post applicants must meet the General Pharmaceutical Councils fitness to practice criteria.
Applications which do not meet the providers entry requirements or apprenticeship funding requirements will not be shortlisted. Due to the requirements of this demanding training experience, it is preferred that successful candidates will be employed on a full-time contract. However, part-time will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
