This is a Director position with a Store design & VM function reporting of 3 VM and 2 Store Designer at various levels. It will require the individual to be exemplary in people management of diverse styles & performance. She/He must have a strong leadership approach & driving design skill sets as a core. A working knowledge of partnering with a NY TR brand GM & APAC Brand GM requires this role to be working in different time zones – US/UK & APAC.
She/He will partner to deliver Global Brand / APAC Strategy & Corporate initiatives in category or brand distortion. She/He will need to ensure on closing of VM execution details across sites including permanent, temporary and event sites, and managing the cost & budget within.
The role will also extend to project management of brand unique activities & to juggle their capacity to handle new workload.
She/He must have strong leadership skills in retail store design, brand communication, design development & project management/procurement understanding.
Previous experiences working in, VM supplier management, studio-based VM design development, VM project management & brand design communication is a key enabler to the success of this role.
This role will report directly to the SDVM Vice President.
This role is based in Singapore & is located within the APAC Travel Retail division.
The Estée Lauder brand Store Design & Visual Merchandising Director role is a key partner to the Brand General Manager for all in store executions of displays. The Director role here is to adapt & drive the visual language of brand in the region, he/she is to establish the work demands, drive the discussion to requests & needs. And will own all stakeholder reviews for all SD & VM scopes. He/she has the priority to deliver on closing all Brand needs in the workflow & team management. This role will require participation with TR retailers on occasion.
The rollouts of store design is an integral part of the EL brand activity. The store renewals & the new sites vary based on the Airport or Downtown retailers demands. The unique demands of these sites vary across the local variances of shopper consumer insights.
As a flagship brand, the adaptation of the visual language of the brand will need to be considered as a whole. The use of lightboxes vs LED screens that sufficiently balances the whole store effect is critical & requires a precise visual balance of these site by site. And to ensure that each launch is maximised in every site.
The rollouts of visual merchandising is traditionally focused on a by element rollout & execution, such as a bar or a makeup unit. However in this role, the primary goal is to ensure the synergies of the eventing designs, the VM props, the by shelf display & the new store rollouts are brought together in synergy.
She/He will partner to deliver Global Brand / APAC Strategy & Corporate initiatives in category or brand distortion. She/He will need to ensure on closing of VM execution details across sites including permanent, temporary and event sites, and managing the cost & budget within. She/He is to lead projects and align with key stakeholders in APAC as well as global, to meet the deliverables whilst meeting the results. On occasion, the incumbent will review, establish, recommend, and support the re-negotiating of retailer requirements to these sites will be required.
Additional corporate activity in omni-channel development in VM enhancements of digital is required, technology in the VM design is a significant part of the innovation of retail work, to be seamlessly & ergonomically included within future sites. This includes executing existing strategies in centralised screen executions.
The responsibility includes design & execution management within budget, in close collaboration with Project Management & brand Marketing team. She/He is to ensure the team works thru the budget required and review for every execution.

Requirements:
· A strong understanding in the shopper journey in retail industry and experiences in Cosmetics/Fragrances retail design, preferably have experiences in all categories including skincare, make-up, and fragrances.
· Experience working in regional/global organisations is a must, ability to communicate & multi-task with different departments to execute the completion of projects.
· A highly integrated individual with strong passion to deliver design accuracy, to lead sustainability and to train/educate teams to close design development and execute the completion of projects.
· A strong ability to communicate design development efficiently and effectively, with teams and partners including retailers and stakeholders in both verbal and written forms is essential.
· A strong ability and experience managing cost and budget, and an ability to communicate cost with teams and partners including shop fitters and global partners is critical for this role.
