As a HCPC registered Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist based on our Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Trafford General Hospital you will be part of a large multi-disciplinary team working on the only level 2a Neuro-Rehab unit in Greater Manchester.

You will work clinically to support the assessment and delivery of rehabilitation to our patients, and also support their discharge and complex case management.

You will have a role in the senior leadership team on the unit supporting service development and improvements alongside providing leadership to the Occupational Therapists on the team.

We're looking for an enthusiatic, dynamic and forward-thinking Occupational Therapist with experience of working in neuro-rehabilitation at Band 6 level and above.

You should have proven skills in neurological occupational therapy including
• Knowledge and experience of assessing and treating cognition, vision and spasticity.
• In depth knowledge of the mental capacity act and complex discharge planning.
• Excellent communication skills
• Skills in acute neurological management and rehabilitation and multidisciplinary working.
• Experience of complex discharge planning within the NHS.

Strong leadership skills are essential to compliment your advanced occupational therapy knowledge and skills.

You will be required to co-ordinate and monitor the activity and caseload demands on the unit, provide evidence-based training within the MDT and support junior therapists in the team to ensure high quality care.

You will provide support to the OT team through supervision, appraisal and teaching. And you'll support the Therapy Clinical Lead with service provision and development opportunities.

You will be supported in your role by the Therapy Clinical Lead and receive regular supervision.

The neurorehabilitation therapy team is ward based and made up of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Neuropsychologists and Rehabilitation Assistants who work closely with nursing and medical colleagues to deliver excellent neurological rehabilitation.

Significant investment in our Special School Nursing team means we are looking for several new posts to support the growing number of CYP with complex health needs in Coventry’s special schools. This post is for an experienced children’s nurse/ learning disability nurse with extensive children’s experience. HS2’s station construction partner, Balfour Beatty VINCI Systra joint venture (BBVS) are leading the construction of HS2’s new Old Oak Common Station. Set to be the best connected and largest new railway stations ever built in the UK, Old Oak Common will become one of the country’s most vital transport super hubs. The station will have 14 platforms, a mix of six high speed and eight conventional service platforms, with an 850m-long station box. It is expected to be one of the busiest railway stations in the country with high speed rail services to the midlands, Scotland and the North and access to central London and Heathrow via the Crossrail Elizabeth Line.

The Senior Health and Safety Advisor will provide risk-based assurance that the project is compliant with all HSES requirements and provide expert HSES technical advice, guidance, and support.

• Implement Business Unit strategy through visible leadership to drive the delivery of Safe at Heart.

Main duties of the job The CYP IAPT Recruit to Train programme involves both academic learning, coursework and supervised clinical practice. Alongside this, the post holder will work with colleagues in a specialist CFHD pathway, building relationships and wider skills in working children and young people with complex emotional and mental health needs in the community. This will include evidence-based assessment and outcome-monitored interventions in conjunction with the training. The Senior Sister / Charge Nurse will participate in the training of staff to: Respond appropriately to major incidents Develop their scope of professional practice such that they have the skills to undertake a variety of tasks including IV drug administration, venepuncture and cannulation, suturing, application of plaster casts, 12 lead ECG recording etc. Deal with patients who are potentially violent in accordance with Trust Policy and Guidance. Manage sick children and their carers who attend the department. Manage mentally ill patients, and have a good knowledge of the Mental Health Act and the issues that surround holding patients under Common Law vis--vis the Mental Capacity Act (2005) Effectively participate in CPR and the resuscitation of the severely injured. Identify and respond to common abnormalities on cardiac monitors SERVICE DEVELOPMENT The Senior Sister / Charge Nurse is expected to make recommendations for changes, which will improve the service in the Department. They also participate in the development and implementation of new working practices. MOTIVATION AND MORALE The Senior Sister / Charge Nurse has an important role in motivating staff and maintaining high morale. The Nurse in Charge must encourage a flexible approach to problems/situations and promote a can do attitude. The Nurse in Charge will encourage staff to adopt a positive, problem solving approach and to be proactive in resolving difficulties. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES The Senior Sister / Charge Nurse will develop competence in the use of hospital computer systems and in particular the Emergency Department EDIS programme. You will be required to rotate through all the shifts operating in ED. Personal Conduct All staff within the Emergency Department team are expected to treat other members of staff with courtesy and respect. The hospital rules and policies, including disciplinary procedure, apply to all staff without exception. The Nurse in Charge will always behave in a courteous manner with members of the public, patients and other members of staff. They will always be helpful, polite and welcoming. They will be proficient in communication skills with a positive body language and the ability to maintain eye contact. Uniforms will always be worn correctly. Study Leave Study leave will be granted at the discretion of the Emergency Department Service Manager.
