Role:
· The Lead Piping DESIGN Engineer is to have a strong background in piping design engineering, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers.
· The Lead Piping Design Engineer is to be conversant with widely recognized piping design requirements, codes and standards which is to be applied to Single Point Mooring (SPM), Topside and Subsea systems. Furthermore, shall be conversant in subsea pipeline design and selection, able to understand load interfaces of the subsea pipelines as well as other interfaces like soil and structural interactions.
· The Lead Piping Design Engineer is to have a strong background in piping engineering, with the ability to lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers.
· The Lead Piping Design Engineer is to be conversant with widely recognized piping design requirements, codes and standards which is to be applied to Single Point Mooring (SPM), Topside and Subsea systems. Furthermore, shall be conversant in subsea pipeline design and selection, able to understand load interfaces of the subsea pipelines as well as other interfaces like soil and structural interactions.
· The Lead Piping Design Engineer should ideally have experience of working in a shipyard environment and have shipyard experience.
Core Responsibilities:
· Technical Lead in developing Piping system design on Single Point Mooring Systems and other product offerings.
· Lead, mentor, and develop a team of piping engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and high[1]performance work environment.
· Provide technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
· Conduct regular team meetings to review project progress, address challenges, and share knowledge. Manage the entire lifecycle of piping systems design deliverables, from the Tendering phase and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) to EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) execution.
· Ensure that designs comply with project requirements and that all milestones and deadlines are achieved.
· Continuously monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure successful completion of the project.
· Lead the preparation of essential PIPING SYSTEM DESIGN calculations and deliverables for EPC projects. This includes, but is not limited to, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), piping specifications, datasheets, sizing, stress, and pressure drop calculations. Possess some knowledge of process engineering to enhance the integration and effectiveness of piping system designs.
· Oversee the entire piping system vendor requisition process, such as preparation of technical specifications and requirements, from quotation, evaluation, selection, installation, and delivery. Implement cost-saving initiatives and value engineering practices to optimize project budgets. Drive continuous improvement efforts within Piping discipline.
· Travels occasionally to sub-contractor facilities to attend Factory Acceptance Tests and fabrication support respectively.

Job Challenges and Problem Solving:
Basic understanding of SPM (Turrets and CALM Buoys) system design aspects is required to work with the relevant disciplines to solve issues which arise. In office and out-of-office self-study of SPM systems is expected to achieve a high level of competency.
Some off-office working hours are expected to communicate with Houston Head Office for project planning and solving issues.
Requirements:
· Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
· 10 to 15 years relevant experience in Piping/Mechanical Engineering.
· Relevant Experience: Possess hands-on experience of at least 5 years as Lead Piping Engineer of large sized FPSO/Offshore platform/Topsides Modules projects
· Language Proficiencies in English & Chinese as he/ she needs to communicate with the Chinese speaking clients, stakeholders, vendors and staffs
· Software skills: Software: Aveva E3D, Advanced Autocad Skill, Caesar II, Microsoft Word and Excel
· Key Behaviors: Leadership, Good sense of Ownership, Communication, Commitment, Customer Focus, Team Player
· Working Conditions: Office Environment (Working Hours: 8 am to 6 pm). Possible exposure to hazards such as noise, heavy equipment, temperature extremes, chemicals, etc. if working in fabrication or installation sites.
· Can work effectively in a fast-paced atmosphere with multiple priorities and constant change.
