This individual is responsible for developing and executing a robust risk-based Audit Analytics Program. Responsibilities include the creation of dynamic analytics tools, developing talent to have more analytics capabilities, and will drive efforts to support the audit disciplines of Financial Audit, Insurance Operations Audit, and Team Resources Audit with the goal to deliver value added audit analytics that materially enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of identifying risks, compliance and developing continuous auditing and monitoring of transactions/data.

The Data Analytics Audit Director is a critical player to support the company’s and the Internal Audit department's aspiration of enhancing a strong risk/control assurance function, being consistently sought out for risk/control advisory services, delivering value added data-driven risk/control insights, and positively influencing continuous improvement of the changing risk/control environment. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Develop and execute a dynamic risk based Audit Analytics Program, that is flexible and adaptable to support the ongoing growth and complexity of the company.   This person will also help develop the analytics skills across a diverse group of individuals within the Audit department
• Drive continuous improvements in the Audit Analytics Program which will include further development and support for implementation and evolution of automated analytic and data visualization tools, dashboards and other analytics/continuous monitoring solutions. These analytics will be used within the business as well as the audit department.
• Lead internal audit projects with a focus on developing and programming analytics and statistical tests to evaluate risks and controls over company activities as identified in the annual Internal Audit plan or supporting investigations.
• Support all Audit disciplines (financial, operational, and team resources) and other compliance audits through the use of data and analytics
• Be an active leader to drive  continuous improvement of Audit approaches, tools and methodologies; maintain compliance with The Institute of Internal Auditors’ Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
   

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Bachelor’s Degree required in Accounting, Finance, Data Science, or Management Information Systems
• Relevant experience required which must include 3+ years’ experience with a Large Public Accounting/Consulting Firm (Audit or Advisory Services serving public companies) or 3+ years of industry experience (large Public Company Internal Audit, SOX department, or data analytics/data science team preferred)
• Proven data analytic skills, utilizing metadata to identify potential errors and provide business insights
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Experience in successfully managing multiple concurrent projects
• Experience in effectively working in a large team environment (within the department and on cross-functional teams) to solve multi-faceted business issues
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interface and collaborate with key stakeholders and leaders
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with stakeholders at all levels of the company both verbal and written formats
• Available to travel approximately 10-20%
• Have or willing to pursue various technical certifications such as CPA, CIA, and/or various insurance designations such as AAI

Responsibilities

• Completing Audit reviews, agree Audit timetables, brief the Audit team (including other specialists), monitor budget and supervise more junior colleagues
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships, whilst recognising and assessing business growth opportunities

Qualifications and skills

• Required degree in Accounting or Finance and completed qualification for one of the following: Singapore CA, ACCA, CA Australia, CPA Australia, ICAEW, US CPA, or equivalent
• Experience leading international engagements where other auditors are involved in the execution of the audit.
• Experience with variety of audit related projects, such as internal audit, compliance, and/or corporate finance experience. Experienced with audit requirements of the MAS forms requested to be signed off by auditors under each license.
• Ability to supervise staff and lead projects. Ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationship. Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment. Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites. Ability to work under tight deadlines if required.
• Strong technical accounting skills with proficiency in SFRS and SSA, as well as IFRS and ISA. US GAAP and SOX 404 preferred.

About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Student Financial Services (SFS) team as an Associate Director of Compliance, Audit, and Training. In this critical role, you will work under the direction of the Director of Compliance, Audit, and Training. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that Student Financial Services complies with federal, state, and institutional policies.

To achieve this, you will research, develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures, ensuring they are effective in achieving compliance and meeting the needs of SFS leadership and operational teams. You will proactively advise and assist operational areas to align processes with compliance requirements. You will collaborate with other units to organize and deliver a comprehensive training program for SFS employees. You will conduct internal audits and risk assessments to ensure quality control of Title IV processes. Additionally, you will participate in federal and state on-site audit visits and assist with any corrective actions.

We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You should be a self-starter who can establish plans, manage timelines, and complete assignments with minimal supervision.

A successful candidate will possess an astute ability to interpret, apply, and communicate federal and state law and regulation. You prioritize accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail. You should be comfortable working independently and collaborating with others across the organization to achieve common goals.

This position is based in Boston, MA and is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops and maintains SFS policy manuals, ensuring that they are effective in achieving compliance and meeting the needs of SFS leadership and operational teams.
• Proactively identifies and analyzes potential risks and exposures, providing clear guidance and hands-on assistance as needed to align processes and operations with compliance requirements.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Title IV and state laws and regulations, keeping leadership and staff informed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of four years of experience in federal student aid programs, or compliance, audit, and training 
• Possess a basic understanding of legislative and regulatory processes, including how regulations are made and enforced.
• Excellent research and analytical skills, including the ability to locate and analyze relevant legal and regulatory information.
• Experience with large-scale systems in financial aid or student accounts preferred. 
• Excellent ability to communicate complex compliance requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
• Ability to foster collaboration and rapport with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and solve problems.

THE JOB

We are seeking a Director of Accounting to manage accounting processes that impact key lines of business supported by the Ticketmaster North America Accounting group.  The role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting rules and will manage all reporting due to internal and external stakeholders.  The role will manage, mentor and coach a team of accountants at various levels and be responsible for training and career development related to the team.  Our ideal candidate will roll up their sleeves and be actively involved in accounting processes at a detailed level.  The candidate should have 15+ years of increasing responsibility in accounting including at least 5+ years of demonstrated experience in managing and motivating an accounting staff at all levels.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Oversee various areas of accounting including Revenue accounting, Capitalized Software accounting, Fixed Assets accounting and other areas as needed.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules in support of the Live Nation consolidated financial reporting process
• Manage and mentor accounting staff while creating and promoting a supportive work environment
• Develop, document and maintain accounting procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls
• Organize and manage responses to internal and external audits including quarterly and annual SOX and financial audits
• Participate in ERP financial system transformation projects and other special projects, as needed
• Collaborate with personnel inside and outside the Accounting and Finance function to improve processes, resolve issues and increase efficiency
• Prepare ad hoc schedules as requested by internal management

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)

• Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA
• 15+ years of professional accounting experience in a comparable role required with at least 5+ years in a leadership position.
• Technology savvy including extensive experience with ERP systems (Oracle and/or SAP), high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and business intelligence tools (e.g., Domo, Tableau, etc.)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Senior financial decision maker with primary responsibility for the Bancorp's centralized reconciliation process. • Oversees the reconciliations for all transaction-based accounts, including those used in Central and Investment Operations, Retail and other lines of business, as well as for all systems application accounts. Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Director of Internal Audit fulfills a key role in assisting the University to maintain a high standard of financial and operational effectiveness. The Director is responsible for evaluating enterprise risk; conducting an effective program of internal audits to help identify and then mitigate risk; identifying opportunities to improve controls and operational efficiency; and serving as an expert resource to promote and instill effective controls, best industry practices, and adherence to applicable laws and regulations. The Director is a key strategic business partner and trusted advisor to academic and business unit leaders who have responsibility for programs involving complex financial, operational, compliance, and information systems components.

The Director will execute their audit plans with the assistance of either an internal staff auditor or by providing assignments and oversight to outsourced auditors as authorized by the VP of Finance. The Director is responsible for preparing periodic reports and presentations for officers of the University and/or for the Board of Trustees’ Audit, Finance, and Development Committee; including plans for proposed internal audits, results of completed audits, and informational briefings on relevant    trends and best practices. The Director may also be called upon to provide technical assistance to support special projects, search committees, and evaluations of vendor products.

Operationally, the Director of Internal Audit reports to the Vice President for Finance and Treasurer, and has a direct reporting relationship to the President and to the Board of Trustees.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Engage outside expertise to perform an enterprise risk assessment with the goal of prioritizing areas having the highest level of risk for internal audit.
• Gain senior management and/or board consensus around the risk assessment and, informed in part by the assessment, develop long-term and near-term plans for proposed audits of specific programs or processes.
• Design and implement internal audit projects including those that involve financial, operational and compliance matters, beginning with a statement of objectives and proposed work plan, and continuing through entrance conference, field work, analysis, and draft and final reports.
• In the absence of additional audit staff, engage external auditors with expertise in a specified audit area and oversee their assignment(s) and reporting.
• Prepare and submit summary reports to the President and Vice President for Finance & Treasurer after completion of each audit project, including recommendations for improvement.
• Review findings with the functional owner and conduct periodic follow-up on closed audits to ensure that the agreed   upon recommendations have been satisfactorily addressed.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to bring professional experience, best practices, analysis, and research to bear on proposed or emerging programs, data systems, financial policies, and regulatory compliance practices.
• Serve on standing or ad hoc committees, including search panels, vendor evaluations, compliance oversight task forces, and advisory groups as requested.
• Ensure that Internal Audit is performing its work in accordance with established professional standards, and remains abreast of emerging trends and best practices that can be incorporated into its responsibilities and plans.
• Oversee Internal Audit's participation in critical business and technology initiatives and projects, ensuring that audit's perspective is effectively voiced and appropriate controls are designed and implemented on a proactive basis.
• Implement and maintain audit software leveraging support from the information systems group when needed.
• Contribute to, or coordinate as appropriate, the activities of the University's external audit firm including determining how best to leverage the work and results produced by the internal audit department. In addition, follow up on findings and recommendations made to the University by its external audit firm, to ensure they are satisfactorily addressed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.
• A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience as an internal or external auditor, including performing audits of internal controls within organizations similar in complexity to Montclair State University (Montclair).
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of enterprise risk assessment in an institution of similar complexity to Montclair.
• Knowledge of standards promulgated by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
• Excellent computing skills including spreadsheet, project management, and presentation tools.
• Strong verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills, including articulating rationales for performing audits, preparing draft findings, and presenting final results in detailed or executive summary format.
• Unwavering integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
• Ability and willingness to adopt a high-level, institutional perspective while also working independently in a hands-on, results-oriented fashion.

PREFERRED:

• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Undergraduate or Master's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
• Certifications relevant to the position, such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
• Relevant experience in an institution of higher education, not-for-profit, or government organization of a size and complexity similar to Montclair.
• Demonstrated experience in the use of enterprise information systems (such as PeopleSoft, Banner, Workday, Oracle, or SAP products), including their use in the design and execution of audits.
• Ability to work independently with academic/program and administrative personnel at multiple levels, such as vice presidents, deans/business unit heads, program managers, and others within a decentralized environment.
• The sound judgment and flexibility that is needed to develop appropriate but pragmatic solutions within an organization that is highly decentralized and continuously evolving.
• Experience in preparing, or assisting and advising business units to prepare, policy and procedure documents that include attention to internal control matters.
• Expertise in tax matters as applicable to exempt organizations, such as post-bond issuance compliance, UBIT, and tax reporting for non-resident aliens.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise information systems and related systems development and operational controls, with experience in systems testing and auditing.
• Expertise in data and information systems risk assessment and mitigation techniques.
• Experience with compliance and auditing requirements within a health care institution, such as a    hospital, research laboratory, or patient clinic.
