MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MRT (Coding) Auditors serve as experts of current coding conventions and regulations related to professional and facility coding. The duties include but are not limited to:

• Performing audits of encounters to identify areas of non-compliance in coding.
• Providing recommendations on appropriate coding and are responsible for maintaining current knowledge of the various regulatory guidelines and requirements.
• Working with staff to ensure that regulations are met or areas of weakness are identified and reported to appropriate supervisor for corrective action.
• Performing prospective coding audits and utilizing results to identify processing inadequacies and re­educate coding staff where necessary.

Performance Management

• Leads, manages, and facilitates the strategic planning process at the start of each presidential administration, in alignment with OMB policy.
• Develops and manages the project plan, identifies 2 resource needs, develops schedules, coordinates the planning team and working group meetings, progress reviews, communications, and reporting requirements.
• Leads the strategic planning team in the agency analysis of the operating environment, Administration priorities or other emerging factors.

The Information Technology Specialist (Data Analyst) performs the following major duties:

• Develops intuitive and interactive Power BI reports and dashboards that help users make better decisions. Develops and executes testing protocols throughout the entire data product development process, including functional, regression, and release testing to ensure data products meet quality standards.
• Establishing metrics for measuring the performance of the plans, as well as leading the activities to capture the data necessary to analyze and report on performance of specified initiatives and general operations.
• Prepares content for long-range planning activities and the objectives and indicators to achieve them. Produces content for IT strategic planning and operational performance plans to include strategic goals, performance indicators and other performance metrics. The Personnel Security Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Personnel Security Program. The position is very confidential, complex, and highly sensitive nature. The incumbent has responsibility of the Personal Identity Verification Program (PIV) which is a Government-wide identification standard for secure and reliable identity credentials issued by the Federal Government to its employees, contractors, affiliates, and volunteers. The PIV Program is required by Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD) 12 and outlined in Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 201-2.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Conducts security and suitability adjudications related to background investigations
• Reviews completed suitability investigations with the purpose of providing recommendations on pre-employment and continued employment considerations
• Determines the impact of potential adverse or derogatory information; exercises personal judgement and discretion to evaluate the nature of information received and recommends or takes appropriate action
• Maintains liaison with local agencies (police, criminal investigators, etc.,) to ensure timely record checks are conducted on personnel

The Systems Accountant:

• Represents the office on reviews to evaluate changes in Standard General Ledger account classifications related to DOT integrated core financial system, financial systems performance, and related practices, and internal controls over the accounting for DOT/FRA funds.
• Leads and/or participates on special financial and organization initiatives and workgroups. Coordinates all system changes and problems, including the development of specific requirements with FAA/ESC and recommends modifications to the financial system to meet FRA requirements.
• Grant FRA users’ access, maintains accounting codes and value sets, maintains the interfaces into the accounting system. Develops and establishes all system policies and procedures to ensure proper recording of transactions in accordance with applicable rules/regulations, and system security.
• Advises management on the redesign of work operations and organizational structures needed to adapt successfully to the changing financial reporting requirements under the Chief Financial Officer Act, Performance Measures under the Government Performance and Results Act, and other mandated legislation and related regulations.
