JOB TITLE: Mobile Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical & Electrical
LOCATION: Tameside - mobile across sites
SALARY: 40k, 8am - 4:30pm
on call 1 in 4, £135 standby
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The post holder will work as part of a flexible team with continuing responsibility for the provision of a comprehensive, high quality property maintenance service to all facilities on the Contract. The post holder will also be expected to undertake any property maintenance work within the post holder's range of competence.
Overall responsibility for the delivery of Hard Services (planned and reactive) within a PFI Education environment. The mobile engineer will have a strong focus on developing the client relationships with the schools and Facilities Premises Team. This contract will only focus on the delivery of Hard Services.
DUTIES:
To ensure that the Facilities are maintained to the levels specified in the Performance Standards of various contracts.
To undertake planned, responsive, and cyclical maintenance work on equipment as defined by your core and non-core skills as per the agreed client programme.
Provide timely updates to the helpdesk on progress of reactive works and completion of reactive / planned tasks.
Provide written technical reports as required, including routine maintenance and reactive reports.
Diagnosing faults on all M & E systems and rectifying as within levels of competence.
To ensure the safe operation of all plant, equipment, and tools.
Facilitate site attendance by specialist sub-contractors as required by the contract.
Complete all regulatory and mandated documents such as Permit to Work Systems as required.
Undertake job specific risk assessments as may be required prior to starting work.
To always operate with safe working practices with due regard to Health and Safety
Regulations, COSHH, Control of Infection, Waste Disposal etc in accordance with legislative requirements and policies and procedures of RFM.
To maintain asset histories, maintenance records and helpdesk reports, informing the
Administrator or Team leader of any follow up action that may be required.
To take part in an On-Call rota providing 24hr, 365-day cover to the Facilities
To report all accidents and incidents as appropriate
To provide support and assistance to other RFM personnel on site in the delivery of contracted services.
The post holder will be required to maintain an awareness of RFM's policies, procedures, and objectives related to the successful delivery of the maintenance service.
To carry out any other duties assigned by the Management Team in connection with RFM's operational requirements.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Recognized trade apprenticeship
Experience in electrical power distribution systems/ lighting systems/ 18th Edition
City & Guilds NVQ in Servicing and Maintaining Air Conditioning
Experience in HVAC control systems
Experience with BMS Control Systems
Health & Safety Certificate
A full driving licence is required and a willingness to travel.
Able to respond efficiently to and prioritise all duties accordingly.
Able to have a flexible approach to working arrangements.
Able to work to a high standard against agreed timescales with limited supervision.
