• Work under the supervision of a Foreman who issues instructions on work sequences, procedures, methods, and deadlines, and relies on the incumbent to assure that work assignments are carried out by other members of the group.
• Pass on to other workers instructions received from supervisor, and starts work (e.g., by assigning the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group led).
• Work along with other workers, setting the pace.
• Perform processing work, selects and applies proper barrier materials and preservatives, cleans metal using established methods, dries parts with appropriate methods to insure elimination of corrosion.
• Operate electric, gasoline or diesel-powered forklifts that can lift up to 40,000 pounds capacity and higher than 168 inches.
• Process all hazardous waste generated by the employee in accordance with prescribed procedures as established by the Environmental Protection Division.

• Receives, examines and determines the condition and disposition of a wide variety of materials.
• Reviews disposal turn-in document (DTID) accompanying material and compares data against property to assure correct information including proper documentation.
• Visually inspects usable property for obvious signs of condition and determines acceptability.
• Determines condition and reportability and special handling requirements (e.g., hazardous material, precious metals, security, DEMIL, Special focus items, etc.) and assigns appropriate classification instructions for warehousing.
• Verifies accuracy of demilitarization codes, takes action to challenge questionable items/codes, and maintains segregated storage of property requiring DEMIL.
• Ensures proper certification is attached to turn-in document when demilitarized by host or generating activity.
• Performs special and periodic inventory of property; re-palletizes/re-locates property as necessary.
• Operates forklifts and related materials handling equipment to move, load and unload, stack or un-stack palletized materials, supplies, and equipment.

• Operates a variety of equipment such as dozers, excavators and road graders to suppress wildfires, reclaim burned and/ or disturbed areas and roads post wildfire, and to implement hazardous fuels reduction treatments.
• Operates equipment in an uncontrolled environment in remote, mountainous areas.
• Operates a tractor and trailer to transport equipment such as dozers, excavators and graders to and from wildfire incidents and job sites.

Major duties include:

• Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the prevention and control of Legionella, aerobic bacteria and other waterborne pathogens or agents commonly found in both potable and non-potable water systems and equipment.
• Responsible for the sampling, testing and flushing of water systems and the operation and maintenance of all treatment and monitoring systems.
• Monitor equipment, instruments, meters, gauges, motors, pumps, feeders, recording and control devices according to a prescribed schedule and perform routine operator maintenance.
• Perform water treatment tests and measurements that require a working knowledge of various microbiological organisms.
• Provides technical and administrative assistance to comply with legislative and accrediting requirements as related to the domestic water systems and equipment at VACCHCS
• Serve as Contracting Officer Representative for any service contract relating to water quality, sampling, testing, or treatment.
• Work assignments involve a wide variety of problems or situations common to the recurring maintenance and water testing program.
• Conduct building surveys to identify at-risk systems and arrangements with respect to their components, installation, configuration, use and condition.

• You will read drawings or circuit diagrams to locate defects in utility systems.
• You will install, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, and manually operated components and equipment associated with the operation of utility systems.
• You will maintain daily logs to track utility systems testing results.
• You will operate computer programs (e.g., System Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) to monitor the runtime, total current, and total voltage of wells, and equalizer tanks.
• You will collect daily samples for analysis to facilitate an organization's ability to obtain annual recertifications.
• You will perform emergency procedures to resolve trouble or malfunctions as indicated by meters.
• You will inspect control gauges, valves, timers, or switches to verify the operation of components.

As a Engineering Equipment Operator your duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Operates a variety of gasoline or diesel powered engineering and construction equipment with wheeled or crawler- type traction and attachments.
• Operates bulldozer, angle dozer, or other attachments to push refuse into an open pit or to fill in demolished building sites and cover with earth, to clean ditches, to fill holes in dikes, or to excavate ditches and ponds.
• Operates farm tractors with auxiliary equipment for farming, mowing, maintaining dikes, and other related activities.
• Performs minor repairs which include replacement of hoses, belts, fuses, light bulbs, etc. that do not require dismantling large components of the equipment such as radiators, hydraulic tanks, alternators, tracks, etc.
• Use trade skills to make repairs to refuge buildings and facilities.

• You will drive one or more trucks, such as platform trucks, van trucks, stake trucks, refueling trucks, tractor trailer with semi-trailer or dump trucks.

• You will operate motor coaches to transport passengers on long distance trips. Buses are driven over public roads at highway speeds.

• Operate a patrol grader and bulldozer with various standard attachments, in a variety of fine and rough grading.

• Operate a mobile truck-mounted crane in work situations where maneuverability is restricted and/or accuracy is critical.
