Job Purpose:

Manage Citi Commercial Bank (“CCB”) business in Hungary and Hub- Managed countries. This role entails responsibility for developing and executing the business strategy for CCB in Hungary and responsibility for the full P&L of the business in order to ensure sustainable and predictable earnings and excellent client experience. All of this must be achieved within a sound control environment in which the business operates.

Job Background / Context:

The business is expected to serve predominantly the mid-sized corporate segment (client annual revenue of ~$100MM - $2.5BN) focused on a variety of growth industries with international banking needs.

A key element of this position is to work in close partnership with products, operations and risk management at all levels .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a business strategy with goal to support our organic growth targets leading to sustainable and predictable results;

• Grow market share in our key segments while looking for opportunities to expand the customer base;

• Full responsibility for P&L of the local CCB business, i.e. revenues, expenses, allocations, adequate returns on capital, as well as sound operating efficiency – drive a balanced scorecard;

• Have a deep understanding of the local market and build long lasting relationships with clients and local authorities;

• Ensure that the right value proposition is developed while  leveraging Citi’s capabilities and network;

• Responsibility for quality of the credit portfolio, origination in line with Target Market, prompt problem recognition;

• Act as Senior Sponsoring Officer for some for large credit clients;

• Close partnership with Risk to ensure that the right credit approach (program and procedures) are in place to allow sound growth of the credit portfolio, avoid negative selection and maintain portfolio quality;

• Talent development, coaching and counselling of staff to provide stretch targets and fulfilling assignments;

• Alignment and close partnership / collaboration with products (Markets, Treasury and Trade Solutions, loans) and coverage (Banking, Capital Markets & Advisory ) to ensure continuous product development for CCB customers and comprehensive solution delivery;

• Partner with Operations and Technology to ensure product delivery and excellent service;

• Ensure sound quality of the credit portfolio and full compliance with credit policies and ensure a safe and sound control environment, with respect to compliance, legal and regulatory factors and closely manage KYC.

The role requires full P&L management, which means that the individual will gain experience in managing revenue growth, optimizing processes and infrastructure, whilst growing a healthy credit portfolio. Develop a strong global network in order to utilize Citi’s full product offerings for clients.

Knowledge/Experience:

• Experience in the banking sector, specifically within corporate and/or commercial banking;

• Business builder capable of creating vision and motivating the team;

• Hungary market knowledge and experience

• Proven track record of successfully managing a complex business with P&L management experience;

• Solid understanding of the different banking products;

• Superior knowledge and experience in credit risk management and structuring deals.

Qualifications:

• University Degree, preferred to have MBA or equivalent in Business Management / Banking or Chartered Accountant / CFA / CPA;
