About the Role:
We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join our Data Team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to shape and manage our data platform, to enhance data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
What You'll Do:
- Design and implement software and data components, to acquire and manage data in a reliable and cost-efficient manner.
- Ship scalable, testable, maintainable, and high-quality code.
- Drive standards in data reliability to enable accurate, consistent, and trustworthy datasets, business intelligence products, and analyses.
- Share knowledge, promote standard methodologies, mentor juniors - making your team the best version of itself.
What We're Seeking:
- Proficiency in cloud technologies, or strong experience working in cloud-based engineering teams.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, and experience with libraries like PySpark, Pandas, DBT and FastAPI.
- Good understanding in distributed systems, such as Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes, micro-services, or event-driven architecture will be a plus.
- Good understanding in database, data lake, and data warehouse technologies (Postgres, Redshift, Big Query, Snowflake, etc.).
- Commitment to quality and what it takes to ship highly maintainable software
- Owner-operator mindset, and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
