New Lubbesthorpe Primary School (near Leicester Forest East) opened in 2019 and is now a fully operational 2 form entry Primary school with 420 pupils. The school is currently looking at expanding to a 3 form entry school with 630 pupils and additional staff to support the schools running.
You will have responsibility for maintaining the security, safety, condition and cleanliness of the school, including carrying out routine day-to-day cleaning duties until such time as pupil numbers justify the appointment of dedicated cleaning staff for whom you will have day-to-day line management responsibility.
You will work 37 hours per week, which will be worked on a split shift basis (7:00-10:30 am and 2:00 – 6:00 pm) during school term time and at times to be agreed during school holidays. In future we anticipate that there are also likely to be evening lettings of the premises.The post is offered on a full-time (37 hours per week) year-round basis. During term time the working pattern will be split shifts of: • 7:00 – 10:30 am (Monday – Thursday) • 7:00 – 10:00 am (Friday) • 2:00 – 6:00 pm (Monday – Friday) During school holidays periods the hours may be condensed into single shifts, with times to be agreed with the Head Teacher. It is expected that all annual leave will be taken during school holiday periods. In future we anticipate that there are likely to be evening lettings of the premises. The OWLS Academy Trust has adopted the same pay scales as those used by Leicestershire County Council, and this job has been evaluated at Grade 7 – negotiable. You will have:
• previous experience in a caretaking / premises management role;
• experience of undertaking routine repairs and maintenance or craft skills in a relevant trade;
• good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to staff, governors, pupils and parents;
• knowledge and understanding of health and safety issues relevant to the post;
• the ability to maintain accurate and efficient records
