As a QA Automation Manager you will manage the team responsible for creating and maintaining all automation tests along with automating the pipeline they run through. These tests should cover all new features being developed along with all regression tests, where applicable. The manager must be technical, analytical and creative, always adjusting to the changes and looking for improvements, keeping Quality at the highest priority. They must work towards ensuring our software, procedures and employees meet the needs of our clients and company audits. The manager also must have excellent communications skills for communicating expectations to employees, collaborating with other teams, provide coaching, and deliver status updates.
This management role is a working manager role who will also be responsible for coding automation tests, code reviews, executing tests and to stay current on the ever changing software. The team manager will be the go to resource for all team members also ensuring that all members have the resources they need to perform their job, and assist in ensuring that TouchNet releases quality products on time. You will be the team driver of functional automation tasks and ensuring that progress is being made to replace manual tests with automation.
QA Manager Responsibilities:
Set and drive automation goals for the department
Design, implement and improve company automation framework
Responsible for managing automation test environments, ensuring software and test data is acceptable for the testing performed.
Responsible for building and maintaining the pipeline that executes the automation tests
Creating java based automation test cases and performing code reviews on team members tests, providing solid feedback where needed.
Analyze data in order to find areas for growth
Responsible for hiring and driving the training for new employees
Accountable for motivating, coaching and correcting employees
Produce status reports for senior management to demonstrate progress on projects
Formulate strategies to increase productivity
Required Skills and Experience:
BS/BA degree (Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Business/CS or related) or relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered
5 + years of experience in leading a strong technical team.
Expertise coding with Java and experience with SQL
Expertise using Selenium and Selenide
Strong verbal and written communication skills, and have demonstrated experience of effectively engaging with Product Development, IT and Software Ops teams.
Solid experience adapting automation methodologies and industry-standards
Experience with routinely interfacing with software developers and other team managers on “upstream” process improvements and key activities that lead to more efficient “downstream” QA system testing.
Proven ability to develop an automation framework, or relevant experience in creating automated tests for web driven testing along with automated scripts for API testing
Attention to detail including precise and effective documentation and managing multiple priorities simultaneously
History of teamwork and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done and to wear multiple hats
A desire to help others be successful and achieve their best
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Microservice automation experience
Experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure
Experience with CI/CD, github, Intellij, Docker, Maven
Experience with Jira & TestRail integration
