We are looking for a new receptionist to join our front of house team. This is a customer facing role and you will be the first and last contact with our guests so we rely on you to be a happy face and make a good impression. Guest care is paramount and we pride ourselves on delivering fantastic service.

Skills and capabilities to add to the blend:

Undertake front of house duties, including meeting, greeting and attending to the needs of guests to ensure a superb customer service experience
To build a good rapport with all guests and resolve any complaints or issues quickly to maintain high quality customer service
To deal with guest requests to ensure a comfortable stay
To assist in keeping the hotel reception area clean and tidy
Undertake general office duties, including monitoring and responding to emails, filing, general telephone and switchboard duties as appropriate.
Assist in other hotel areas if needed

The role of the Night Porter is generally about the security of the building while most of our guests are asleep. A friendly, welcoming and efficient service from our reception is our aim and you will continue the good work carried out by the daytime receptionists.

Qualities and skills you can bring to the night shift:

Undertake front of house duties, including meeting, greeting and attending to the needs of guests to ensure a superb customer service experience
Ensure the security of the building is maintained through the quite hours, as directed by the hotel management. Usually done by regular walk rounds and recording the action in a log.
To deal with guest requests to assist in a comfortable stay
To be aware of your hours worked (17 week average rule)
Be fully conversant with the procedures in case of an emergency. This will cover the procedure for guests being taken ill, fire safety and procedure, and also for yourself working alone.
Be aware of company Health & Safety policy in your workplace and assist others to help to maintain a safe working environment, including the “buddy” contact process
Assist guests with luggage if necessary

Skills and Experience to put you a cut above the rest:



Ensuring that all external areas such as car parks, paths and roadways are kept clean, tidy and well maintained.
Inspecting the hotel rooms to ensure they don’t require any maintenance work.
light garden maintenance
Ensuring that all maintenance work that is carried out is in line with the Health & Safety policy to maintain the safety of all team members, guest and owners at all times.
Ensuring the good working order of all equipment and plan, prepare and implement a maintenance schedule to keep all in good working order and to be serviced in line with the Health & Safety policy.
General carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing tasks will be a daily occurrence.
Carry out periodic health and safety checks, including those relating to fire safety and risk assessments, and legionella testing.
Experience of working in a maintenance environment; handy trades like carpentry, joinery, plumbing or electrics
Experience within painting and decorating
Ideally hold a qualification in a relevant trade

Skills and attributes you will bring to the chopping board:

To undertake all aspects of cleaning of equipment, walls, floors, fixtures and fittings and light equipment using cleaning products as instructed, and at a time according to the cleaning rota or as directed.
To wash, sort and store all items of kitchen equipment, utensils and cooking implements.
Basic food preparation tasks as requested by the kitchen management.
Be aware of company COSHH, Health & Safety policy in your workplace and assist others to help to maintain a safe working environment.

Offering a competitive salary of £34,164 per annum, based on 45 hours per week, working up to 6 days per week, plus incremental and performance pay reviews as well as a quarterly bonus if targets are met! Being a Head Chef with Daish’s is slightly different to most kitchens within Hospitality. Our guests all eat at the same time, twice a day and choose from a set menu, so no more cooking to order! Batch cooking and organised delivery is the name of the game! Breakfast is served at 8.30am daily and dinner is sent out at 6.30pm, with the aim to have the whole restaurant served within 45 mins. Preparation is key to success which is why we provide you with a comprehensive support system via our Group Operations Kitchen Manager and a Menu guide and dedicated suppliers! Running a kitchen with Daish’s is a breeze!

Skills and Qualities you can add to the Mix!:

Controlling and directing the food preparation process and other relative activities, by leading and developing your team in the department
Able to work within the budget constraints of the relevant season, leading to good cost control per head
Oversee or carry out stock replenishment for the department.
Carry out monthly stock check counts and submit to the accounts office for cost per head calculations.
Be aware of your spend cost per head
Maintain all required legislative records such as the SFBB log, and labelling systems so that internal and external inspections can be carried out at any time.
Maintain at least a 4 in an external local authority health inspection and also keep this standard for internal interval checks
Current Hygiene Certificate of Level 3 if you do not have this, we will provide the course for you.
Ability to manage tasks and responsibilities across the full spectrum of the kitchen operation
Outstanding communication and leadership skills
A good working knowledge of culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
Learn and continue the values of the organisation and a wish to contribute to them
Working knowledge of Health and Safety issues relating to kitchen working environments

Offering a competitive salary of up to £29,235 per annum, based on 48 hours, working up to 6 days per week, plus incremental and performance pay reviews! We also offer continuous all year-round employment – we don’t close for the winter months! You also get £50 once you have completed basic Daish's training and if you refer a friend, you'll split £100!

Hours include evenings, weekends and bank holidays, working 7:00 – 15:00 or 15:00 – 23:00 with the occasional mid shift of 9:00 – 17:00.
