• Lead and strengthen the entire supply chain function across multiple countries in the region with presence in China, Malaysia, Thailand and etc.
• Oversee the integration and optimization of supply chain systems during the transformation phase.
• Manage supplier relationships and negotiate high material costs to ensure cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with teams across the region to ensure smooth operations and strategic alignment.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.

The Successful Applicant

• Extensive experience in precision engineering, injection moulding, fabrication and manufacturing.
• A strong background in material engineering (particularly in polymers and elastomers).
• Proven success in managing and reducing material costs in manufacturing environments.
• Experience in both international firms and SME environments, demonstrating the ability to thrive in both settings.
• A hands-on leader with a strategic and entrepreneurial mind.
• Capable of leading end-to-end supply chain/ operational teams while driving high-level initiatives.
• Direct experience working with OEMs across the automotive, medical devices and industrial tools/equipment industries.

Job Description

• Manage and optimize sourcing performance within the region.
• Coordinate sourcing activities and interact with regional finance.
• Align priorities with regional operations and S&OP leaders to ensure supply base capacity meets production requirements.
• Oversee all cost-related matters within the assigned region.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies to ensure supply, optimize costs, minimize risk, and support new product development.
• Approve and manage supplier relationships for the region.
• Ensure accuracy in the purchase price variance forecast and produce monthly PPV root cause and countermeasure reports.
• Maintain material pricing in ERP systems for the respective region.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering or Science (MBA preferred).
• Minimum 10-15 years of progressive experience in procurement and supply chain management.
• Experience sourcing/ procuring semi-finished goods for general industrial products and have multi mullion dollar annual spend expertise
• Prior sourcing experience from suppliers in the region e.g. Thailand, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan and Korea
• High level interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to establish business partnerships to influence and coach across multiple levels within the company.
• Demonstrated global business acumen and strategic thinking.
• Proven ability to take initiative, identify opportunities, and make calculated decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment is essential.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% across APAC

About Our Client

This high-visibility role, reporting directly to the CEO and GM. The leader will be directly involved in building and growing the sourcing team across the region and will be required to travel frequently.

Job Description

• Develop and manage relationships with tier-1 manufacturers and tier1/2/3 distributors
• Qualify and assess franchised distributors' comparative advantages.
• Negotiate business terms and monitor prices and deliveries.
• Establish and evaluate supplier performance metrics regularly.
• Analyze delivery and cost risks; negotiate allocations.
• Communicate with internal teams about costs and sourcing strategies.
• Design and establish sourcing strategy to negotiate on high volume RFP/ RFQ and mass production
• Negotiate on business terms with distributors and arrange regular meetings to check prices/ deliverables
• Supplier Performance Management to evaluate the Quality, Delivery, Cost and other business terms
• Regularly eliminate and introduce new suppliers based on the metrics

The Successful Applicant

• Proven leadership and team management experience with solid sourcing/ procurement background in regional capacity
• Degree in Electronics or Manufacturing Engineering are preferred; MBA will be a plus
• Relevant working experience in capacity of procurement/ sourcing, NPI or EMS lead within the Electronics Contract Manufacturing/ Semiconductor Industry
• Solid connections and existing network with suppliers in the region
• Well verse with cost negotiations on product cost, cost savings, cost optimizations and other savings.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment to deliver optimal solutions with tight timelines.
• Strong communication skills with ability to manage both external and internal stakeholder relationships effectively
