The role
As a Software Development Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where will have the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the Royal Navy's applications to ensure timely software deliveries.

Day-to-day, you'll lead and manage our software development team and help us continue to grow our business and contribute to our goal.

• Lead and manage one of the organisations Software Development teams focused on creating and maintaining software applications using Microsoft Technologies and Oracle backend systems.
• Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from initial planning, requirement analysis, estimation, and design to development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams including project managers, architects, test, business analysts, infrastructure, and service team to deliver software solutions on time, within scope and budget.
• Manage the demands for bug fixing, system enhancements including continuous application development and changes resulting from technology refresh.

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Software Development Manager

• Significant experience in software development, with a strong focus on Microsoft Technologies
• Significant experience in .NET, C#, API development and integration, SQL servers
• Experience with Agile development methodology
• Experience working as a Senior or Principal Software Engineer with proven experience of setting the software Development strategies

What does the role involve?

THE BUSINESS

Our client a family owned and ran company based in Northumberland that manufacture spring water based soft drinks. Our well established client aims to improve their soft drinks business and their team by continually developing, training, and staying at the forefront of technological and market developments with new automated packaging machinery.


THE ROLE

- We are looking for a technical operator who will help run, problem solve, supervise and maintain the production lines to ensure peak performance and quality

- A technical operator should have previous experience on bottling/canning lines, preferably within the beer or soft drinks sector.

- Operating as part of a small team with a variety of process and technologically advance packaging machines, you will deliver the production of soft drinks to schedule.

- You will understand the production line operating principles and be able to learn format changeovers and CIP processes.

- Other responsibilities include helping our team with all aspects of production, assisting with warehousing and distribution, and general good hygiene and housekeeping practices around the site.

THE PERSON

You'll be someone confident, motivated, able to work as part of a small team and willing to learn about producing the soft drinks which is at the heart what we do. We are looking for someone who is focused and has an eye for problem solving and capable of operating advance packaging machinery.

What you’ll be doing

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be responsible for managing the lifecycle implementation of developing UK-Context subjects, including scoping, stakeholder engagement, development, testing, and training rollouts. You’ll oversee the delivery of technical solutions as outlined in the UK-Context delivery plan, ensuring progress and accountability are tracked and reported. You’ll also identify issues within the NSA Consortium that require UK-Context intervention and collaborate with Subject Best Athletes to provide effective solutions.

You’ll support the creation and delivery of UK-Context documentation, including templates, guidance, procedures, and training programs, ensuring they meet the needs of the NSA Consortium. In addition, you’ll deliver training sessions, workshops, and orientations on key UK-Context topics, such as ALARP and CDM, while developing formal training programs for wider group use.

You’ll play a key role in regulatory monitoring for the SZC project, producing quarterly and yearly reports. Collaboration with HPC, SZC Ltd, and NSA Consortium entities, including EDF and Framatome, will be essential. Occasional travel to France may be required to support the development and delivery of arrangements.


Who you are

Being a Technical Requirements Management Lead at EDF means bringing a solid educational background in engineering, along with in-depth knowledge of the nuclear industry, nuclear plant operations, and nuclear safety from both design and operational perspectives. You’ll have a strong understanding of UK law, regulations, and best practices, particularly in areas such as Health and Safety Legislation, including ALARP principles, CDM regulations, Nuclear Site License, and Environmental Permit requirements.

Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential, as you’ll be delivering training and facilitating workshops across various teams. Experience working on HPC or SZC projects is highly desirable, as is a proven track record in interfacing with regulators and entities across nuclear sites.

Fairfield High School is seeking to employ, on a permanent basis, a Design & Technology / Art Technician for 37 hours per week, term time only plus 7 Inset days.
You will work in close liaison with teachers and assist in the day-to-day preparation of teaching resources and maintenance of equipment. The successful candidate should be confident in the use of technical and practical equipment and have the appropriate practical and technical skills, training and H&S DT certification to use workshop equipment. You should be logical, have good time management and be able to use your own initiative and work alone at times.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
• Prepare classrooms and workshops for use by staff and students, ensuring a safe and tidy working environment
• Assist and support teaching staff in delivering practical activities in lessons
• Assist teaching staff in creating teaching resources and materials
• Maintain, clean and repair equipment (seeking specialist assistance when necessary) in order to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Replace belts, sharpen & oil machines
• Use machinery in workshops to help support students project work
• Ensure all materials and tools are stored securely each day
• Maintain inventory of materials and equipment and associated stocktaking duties
• Place orders and check deliveries
• Adhere to current Health and Safety requirements
Hours of work will be 8.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am – 3.30pm Fridays (inclusive of half an hour for lunch). Actual salary based on points 7 – 9, term time only plus 7 additional days, will be £21,533 - £22,264 per annum (full time equivalent of £24,780 - £25,622).
