Leidos is seeking a dynamic Chief Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Federal Civil IT teams within the Digital Modernization Sector. This position will be supporting the cybersecurity program of a federal agency within the Washington DC area.

The Chief Cybersecurity Engineer is a key role and will serve as the Leidos primary interface to the Government lead on all matters pertaining to Enterprise Cybersecurity. The Chief Cybersecurity Engineer will provide technical leadership to evaluate, recommend, design, and integrate new cyber security technology and tools by conducting feasibility studies, proof of concepts, pilot projects, and other research and development initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate their ability to:

• Independently performs a variety of system design and integration tasks which are broad in nature and are concerned with design, implementation and architecting of major systems, systems of systems, integration of systems elements and related support systems.

• Lead the assessment and analysis of organizational progress against existing cyber security strategies as well as identify, implement, and maintain new strategies that address the vision, mission and goals of stakeholders and senior leaders.

• Provide guidance and direction on assessing enterprise risk exposure through weaknesses in platforms, access controls, and configuration of the enterprise network systems and the data contained within

• Provide engineering expertise and guidance for the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions that protect and monitors the enterprise networks Provide guidance and leadership for the development of highly innovative cyber security solutions, achieved through collaboration and dialogue with other experts.

Basic Qualifications:

• US Citizenship

• Top Secret Clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in a cyber related discipline and 12+ years of prior relevant work experience within IT/Cybersecurity, 4 years additional experience by be considered in lieu of a degree

• CISSP certification

• 4+ years’ cybersecurity engineering experience directly supporting federal government as a government or contract employee.

• Extensive experience creating and executing migration plans to migrate services, applications, or data from on-premises to hybrid or multi-cloud environments

• Comprehensive understanding and operational experience with federal requirements such as NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP.

• Identify security relevant data and tools in both on-prem and cloud mission areas, develop solutions for evolving capabilities, and make formal recommendations to stakeholders

• In-depth understanding of cyber security architectures, technical platforms, threat management standards and industry best practices

• Experience with communicating with vendors, designing solutions, and selecting technologies for implementation

• Experience and ability to successfully negotiate and influence others to understand and accept new concepts, practices, and approaches.

• Ability to drive culture change and transformation including the delivery of improved services and capabilities.

• Possesses broad knowledge base with key IT technologies, system engineering, IT processes and lifecycle methodologies, technical project execution and management, and IT modernization and transformation.

• Exceptional communication and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Top Secret SCI Clearance

• CISM, CISSP-ISSEP, GSLC or CCISO Certifications

• Knowledge and familiarity with the fundamental of agile project management

• Experience working in both Classified and Unclassified operations. 

• Experience working with SOC environments supporting multi-tenant operations

The Mission Operations Division has an opening for a Chief Engineer in San Diego, CA for the Distributed Common Ground System – Navy (DCGS-N).  The DCGS-N is the U.S. Navy’s ISR&T enterprise network installed on aircraft carriers, amphibious ships, and ashore sites.  This is an exciting opportunity where the successful candidate will lead a team of engineering professionals and domain experts in the technical evolution of the DCGS-N system using modern Agile methodologies in a DevSecOps environment.  Technologies to be incorporated include cloud migration, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and modern cybersecurity approaches. 

Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate will serve as the lead engineer for the DCGS-N program over the full lifecycle to include engineering, integration and deployment.  Duties include performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, architecture design, integration, system testing, and quality assurance.  They will be responsible for managing the overall work effort and products of the engineering staff.  Support to business development and proposal development will also be required at times.  Some travel and shipboard visits will also be required.

Basic Qualifications

Master’s degree in a computer science or engineering related discipline. 

15 years of engineering and/ or software development experience including use of modern technologies and methodologies.

5 years of Navy ISR related experience.

Experience articulating complex technical concepts to customers, business development, program delivery, technical teams, and executives, both orally and in writing.

Active TS/SCI clearance

Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a HRIS Solution Architect/Chief Engineer to join a high performing Agile team in designing and deploying Workday at Veterans Affairs. Working as part of a dynamic team, the Solution Architect’s role will be to ensure Workday is configured in line with the customer’s needs and requirements to enable a great user experience for all users. This role will plan, design, set-up, implement, and work with others on system design, configuration and ongoing support.

This position requires the ability to obtain a National Agency Clearance and Inquiries (NACI) clearance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support the definition, configuration, development and delivery of a successful Workday HR solution.
• Lead the creation of solution architecture documentation including future state process, configuration dictionaries, etc.
• Build an in-depth understanding of the customer’s current and future business needs and the relationship of interdependent project work streams.
• Develop and maintain the necessary plans for solutioning workshops, business process definition, configuration, testing and training support - including key tasks, milestones, and deliverables – aligned with delivering the overall solution.
• Assist with the definition of system processes and standards.
• Facilitate conversations with the customer to gather and provide recommendations on target business requirements in line with the Workday capabilities and the functional roadmap.
• Map stated customer requirements to standard Workday business processes, forming the basis of subsequent process-based discussions.
• Develop plans for Workday configuration for requirements that cannot be accommodated by standard, out-of-the-box functionality.
• Work with the Technical Lead and the Integration Lead to drive execution of planned activities to ensure solutioning is delivered on-time and in line with interdependent project workstreams.
• Provide the information and documentation needed for change orders.
• Support the project issue and risk identification, troubleshooting, decision-making, mitigation, and escalation processes to ensure quick and effective problem resolution.
• Support the transfer of relevant Workday product knowledge to target customer resources.
• Participate in the VA’s authorization and approval process (ATO, ATC, MOU, & etc.) for solutions and services.
• Provide support for the maintenance of system interfaces.

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or other related field and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10+ years or prior relevant experience.
• 7+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
• 5+ years of experience in solution architecture and data architecture, working with highly scalable systems.
• 2+ years of experience configuring Workday implementations, including the integration with strong knowledge of Agile development processes.
• Prior experience leading system engineering and/or solution architecture efforts at Veterans Affairs.
• Hands-on experience deploying cloud-based SaaS solutions (Azure and AWS)
• Ability to identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Proficiency with solution diagramming and modeling, process modeling, data modeling using various modeling tools.
• Experience documenting solution architectures using standard templates, and summarizing the architectures for non-technical users in PowerPoint and MS Word documents.
• Experience with DODAF Framework.
• Ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
• Adaptability and a willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and frameworks
• Strong communication skills.
• Certifications: CSM, Scaled Agile Framework certification (SAFe Agilist or other), cloud certifications, Workday certifications (HCM).
