• Serves as a Supervisory Criminal Investigator assigned to a field division of the Bureau.
• Responsible for the prevention, detection, and investigation of substantive and conspiracy type violations of laws enforced by ATF.
• Supervises a group of criminal investigators stationed at field offices where group size ranges from small to moderate, who are engaged in substantive criminal investigation work and the work must be greater than average in difficulty.

The position of Special Agent in Charge (SAC) manages a major field division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and exercises executive responsibility for the primary enforcement of Federal alcohol, tobacco, firearms, explosives and arson laws and regulations.

• Plans, directs, implements and evaluates comprehensive law enforcement and regulatory programs in the field division.

In this position you will serve as a Supervisory Criminal Investigator (Special Agent in Charge)

This position is a GS-1811 position and requires the ability to carry a firearm and the appropriate criminal investigative training and experience.

As a "rigorous/primary" position, this position is covered by the Law Enforcement Retirement System. In accordance with Public Law 100-328 and Departmental Personnel Management Letter 338-2, candidates for law enforcement positions cannot have reached their 37th birthday prior to the date of referral on a Certificate of eligible for a federal civilian law enforcement position. In unusual situations, a waiver may be authorized by the USCG Commandant up to age 39. An individual who has passed the maximum entry age limit, but previously served in a covered position, may be eligible for consideration and reinstatement of coverage if he will be able to complete a total of 20 years of covered law enforcement service by the time he reaches the mandatory retirement day of 57. You will serve as a Supervisory Criminal Investigator conducts and supervises the conduct of complex and highly sensitive criminal investigations into matters involving felony violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ); internal affairs investigations into alleged misconduct by CGIS personnel; investigations into violations of federal laws and statutes under the maritime jurisdiction of the USCG; investigations into matters referred by the DHS, Office of Inspector General (OIG) to CGIS Headquarters; or matters within the jurisdiction of the Joint Task Force to which assigned.

• Conducting highly complex investigations, sometimes within established geographical and jurisdictional boundaries, but also outside these boundaries, often working with cold information and/or evidence or with highly reluctant witnesses or suspects. • Conducting non-UCMJ investigations within the jurisdiction of the USCG or the Joint Task Force to which assigned such as maritime smuggling and environmental crimes.
• Writing clear and concise investigative reports and other documents in a timely manner, and presents all indicated and developed information to supervisors, relevant commands, attorneys and courts or reviews and approves such reports.
• Responding to requests for investigative assistance from USCG commands and other law enforcement authorities; may be assigned to participate in the CGIS Protective Services Operations Program, which provides physical protection to high-ranking officials of the Coast Guard (especially the Commandant), and upon official request, assists the U.S. Secret Service with protective assignments.
• Providing briefings and ensure adequate information flow to senior CG and other government agencies including, but not limited to Director, CGIS; Commandant, USCG; US Attorneys, Flag and General Officers of the sister US Armed Services; and leaders of other government agencies both foreign and domestic.

Ninemer Communications is a local communication consultancy firm established in 2010. The agency has a strong roster of B2C and B2B clients spanning industries such as FMCG, government, MICE, travel and more. Our agency is looking for dedicated and dynamic individuals to add to our team.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

1. Assist our account teams in ongoing PR, social media and digital projects.
2. Research for media materials, social media outreach or new business proposals.
3. Monitor, collate and analyse media coverage.
4. Manage monthly reports to derive insights.
5. Other administrative duties.

QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED

A diploma in any subject is acceptable, although English, journalism, media studies or mass communications are preferred. In-house or Agency experience in corporate communications or public relations will be advantageous.

A SUITABLE CANDIDATE SHOULD ALSO HAVE THESE TRAITS

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Multitasking is a norm and able to work well under stress.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Meticulous and a real eye for detail.
• Knack for learning fast and hunger for knowledge.
• Responsible and diligent.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills to ensure deadlines are met.
