What Health System Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal Health
Pharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe, efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Health's pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.

Health System Pharmacy is responsible for providing customized pharmacy program solutions that reduce costs and improve patient care quality for hospitals, health systems and other integrated healthcare providers may also consult with and advise healthcare team on prescribed medications, supplies and related processes.

Job Summary

Under general direction of the System Clinical Pharmacy Director, the Clinical Operations Pharmacist will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care as defined by the State Office of Pharmacy Services to patients admitted to Western Massachusetts Hospital and the Pharmacy Distribution Center. These sites are governed by the Department of Public Health, currently specializing in providing medical treatment services for a diverse patient population with long-term complex medical needs. The Clinical Operations Pharmacist will play an integral role in direct patient care and patient counseling, pharmacotherapy/treatment protocol development, drug formulary management, medication safety, and process improvement initiatives. 

This Clinical Operations Pharmacist will report to Western Massachusetts Hospital located in Westfield, MA, twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Additional hours to meet the 32 hour weekly requirement will be provided at the Pharmacy Distribution Center located in Tewksbury, MA and/or additional sites across the Commonwealth.

Responsibilities

• Participate in quarterly interdisciplinary patient and team meetings to provide patient medication updates and assist in the creation and modification of pharmacotherapy treatment and monitoring plans.  

• Conduct drug regimen reviews for patients quarterly and as needed to ensure continual cost-effective, clinically appropriate, evidence-based treatment.

• Serve as a reliable drug information resource to interpret medication therapy for clinical appropriateness and safety including, but not limited to, treatment indication, dosing, duration of therapy, drug-drug/drug-disease/drug-food interactions, adverse effects, therapeutic duplication, therapeutic alternatives, medication compliance, etc. 

• Perform operational duties to ensure medication access across the care continuum.  

• Assist with abstract reviews for new admission medication screening.

• Document patient-specific clinical interventions and associated cost-savings.  

• Assist in hospital formulary and inventory management.

• Send recurring deliverable documents and updates on activities to the System Clinical Pharmacy Director. 

• Send recurring deliverable reports and documents to the system Quality Assurance team.  

• Provide recurring reports to local Quality Assurance team and providers. 

• Provide in-services and educate healthcare professionals and patients on pharmacotherapy-related topics to promote evidence-based, patient-centered, cost-effective, and safe utilization of medications.  

• Provide pharmacy orientation for new nursing and respiratory therapist staff.

• Participate actively in interdisciplinary committees to improve patient care, medication safety, and regulatory compliance.

• Participate in scholarly activities, site-specific performance improvement projects, medication use evaluations, and financial initiatives to contribute to the advancement of pharmacy practice.  

• Precept Pharmacy Students from local colleges of pharmacy.  

• Maintain safety, integrity, and professionalism at all times, to include appropriate communication with coworkers.

• Organizes and prioritizes work assignments.

• Answers the telephone, identifying self and department; directs calls to appropriate personnel. 

• Keeps pharmacy areas clean, neat, and well organized; Keeps pharmacy equipment clean.

• Willing to modify work schedule to accommodate staffing needs of facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy.

• Must be a “good standing” licensed Pharmacist in the state of Massachusetts.

• Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency, or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical acute care setting highly preferred.

• Board certification in pharmacotherapy preferred.

• Experience with the medication formulary process and assessment of appropriate medication use (i.e., P&T, MUEs, etc.).

• Experience with drug formulary management is preferred.

• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding pharmacy practice and protected health information. 

• Understanding of institutional policies/procedures including standard precautions and infection control and prevention. 

• Effective interprofessional and interprofessional communication skills and ability to work in collaborative environments. 

• Time management skills and ability to effectively handle concomitant responsibilities.

About the Role:

The Senior Manager, Institutional Business Management will play a key role in supporting the management and growth of AGF’s institutional business in North America including identifying opportunities and executing initiatives that support business transformation and aggressive growth in sales and revenues.

Your Requirements:

• CFA charter-holder or other professional investment designations (CAIA, CIM etc.) desirable
• 5+ years of investment industry experience is ideal;
• Some experience and/or interest in a combination of public, private markets/alternative investment experience  
• Knowledge of, and interest in, investment markets, trends and products in the institutional and intermediary markets in North America is required;

The Field Support Engineer II for Springfield, Ma area, with limited supervision, installs, repairs, upgrades and performs preventative maintenance on specified Carl Zeiss Meditec instrumentation in a designated field service territory.  Represents Carl Zeiss Meditec at customer locations and works to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. Responsible for all company issued property (inventory, tools, diagnostic equipment, vehicle, etc.) in accordance with company policies.  Maintains a high level of professional communication with their team, customers, management, Sales and Technical Support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The System Owner will report into Quality Management and Regulatory Systems Head (QMRS) and will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management System (QMS) software solutions, including Regulatory Information Management (RIMs) and Regulatory Intelligence (RI) systems. The System Owner will also be responsible for ensuring that these software solutions are compliant with regulatory requirements and meet the needs of our Quality and Compliance teams.  They will be an experienced in managing external vendors, software lifecycle management, infrastructure and interface management and experience with server/cloud management would be beneficial. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Track user access, license usage and system stability
• Ownership of vendor contracts with approvals/invoicing as needed
• Ensure cybersecurity controls and concerns are factored into any IT projects
• Support with data gathering for business case build for new project and budget applications
• Propose system improvement ideas whilst maintaining the broader view of the software ecosystem and interconnectivities
• Train new administration team members when heightened access rights are needed to access servers/background of systems
• Support with system testing during validation of software toolings as needed to support the implementation team.
• Ensure business continuity for the systems
• Expert liaison for interface management on daily basis to ensure connectivity of systems e.g. to GPDM or ERP systems
• Manage data migration plans from any existing technologies
• Lead expert for system upgrade projects

• Point of contact for technical administration and maintenance and validation activities on behalf of the QMRS team and ensure interfaces operate as needed
• Manage the QMS software development process, including planning, tracking progress, and coordinating resources.
• Work with Quality and Compliance teams to understand their needs and ensure that QMS software solutions meet their requirements.
• Expertise for guiding the business and the QMRS team on project/change requests for the RIMs, RI tool to ensure ongoing integration and improved integration of QMS processes
• Communicate QMS software solution status and issues to senior management.
• Ensure budget management and on budget delivery of projects
• Ensure business continuity of systems for highly regulated environment
• Delegate for Head of QMRS on technical documents/approvals
• Oversight of project team including developers to ensure business needs are met and suit the global roadmap are architecture of project

EDUCATION:
