• You will instruct machinists apprentices, worker/helpers and journey level artisans in all aspects of machining operations and processes.
• You will instruct/ lead on the theory, operation, function, equipment set up procedures, CNC operation, checks and precision measurements of machining methods.
• You will provide technical instruction and demonstrations for artisan inspectors, aeronautical engineers and quality assurance specialist in the proper use of tools, machinery, technical references, and safety.

Major duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide individualized massage therapy treatment
  • The massage therapist utilizes standard patient evaluation procedures to formulate a treatment plan. The massage therapist incorporates various massage therapy and bodywork techniques taught within their professional education. The massage therapist provides advanced massage therapy services of greater complexity applied to specialty populations in various clinical/environmental settings with limited supervision and coordinate follow up care as indicated. The massage therapist is responsible for changing linen between patients, refilling oils, cleaning massage table/chair/arm rest, and providing a clean, calm environment.
• Provide massage therapy instruction, education, and mentoring
  • The massage therapist provides massage therapy instruction for self-care to patient and family as determined appropriate. The massage therapist educates patients on healthy lifestyle including hydration, basic nutrition, stretching, exercise, mind-body techniques, sleep habits, stress management and other matters related to massage therapy care. The massage therapist has knowledge of complementary integrative health and holistic health principles. The massage therapist mentors other staff in best massage therapy practices. Under routine academic oversight, the massage therapist assists with clinical supervision of massage therapy students. The massage therapist is a subject matter expert, responsible for mentoring other massage therapists and participating in educational activities. The massage therapist has knowledge of teaching methods and learning principles, and will assist other staff through education as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team.
• Complete clinical notes in electronic health record system
  • The massage therapist shall document and code information related to patient care in the VA's electronic health care record on a timely basis following established policies. Consent shall be completed prior to treatment in accordance with local requirements. The massage therapist functions as a member of the health care team and communicates with other health care providers as appropriate. Task #4: Maintain trainings and attend required meetings The massage therapist shall maintain up-to-date with VHA and professional trainings. Required professional meetings must be attended.
• Research and quality improvement
  • The massage therapist participates in research and quality improvement activities related to massage therapy. The massage therapist is required to use various communication techniques to encourage and educate individuals and groups to enhance massage therapy outcomes. The massage therapist is responsible for identifying, collecting and analyzing aggregate patient care information to ensure safety and quality of care.
• Administration
  • The massage therapist may review patient referrals to screen for appropriateness of care and direct Veterans to others services when necessary. The massage therapist is the subject matter expert on massage therapy and related body work services and will provide guidance when requested regarding purchased care.

This position is located in the Consolidated Benefits Unit (CBU) of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP).

Under the guidance and direction of the Deputy Chief, CBU, this position falls into program development, implementation of employee benefits programs, and providing benefit services for all staff of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Serves as an agency expert in CSRS and FERS retirement issues and develops, as well as monitors the Bureau’s retirement policy.

Responsible for tracking mandatory retirements for issuance of notice letters, developing information and application packets, counseling staff about retirement and other benefits issues, assisting survivors of deceased employees with death claims and processing.

Provides advice to the Central Processing Unit and individual agency staff about benefits issues related to life events, creditable service, law enforcement coverage and eligibility, and other complex benefit issues.

1. Performs routine and non-routine material coordination duties for special programs, maintenance or production shops.

2. Responsible for local management of decentralized and decontrolled items which requires technical intervention to assure effective supply support and economy. Items are less stable or standardized and do not lend themselves to routine control through the use of the computer and variable supply level formulas. Plans requirements, both quantitative and monetary, to satisfy customer needs. Authorizes procurement and is responsible for funds management.

3. Responsible for limited aspects of storage management. May develop and install local procedures and techniques to achieve and maintain smooth, effective, and coordination storage operations.

As a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC, WG-8852-5/8/10, duties include:

(1) Perform inspections, functional checks, and preventive maintenance on assigned aircraft to include pre-inspection, daily inspection, pre- and post-flight inspections and such special inspections as required, including fuel contamination checks, oil sampling, an inspection of onboard emergency equipment. Conducts checks on hydraulic, electrical, transmission, power systems, etc.

(2) Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and performs unscheduled maintenance on assigned and transient aircraft. Performs the full range of repair and testing of aircraft system, assemblies, and surfaces. Using a variety of methods involving test equipment, visual checks and instruments, diagnoses and identifies problem areas and determines the extent of repairs required. Removes components and assemblies, repairs or replaces defective parts and components and reassembles repaired items into the aircraft. Installs, aligns, and makes needed adjustments to major components and assemblies such as engines, propeller/rotors, transmissions, hydraulic systems, etc., assisting Specialists as required. Accomplishes adjustments to related systems which may be affected by repairs. Conducts ground functional tests of all aircraft systems. Services aircraft with oil, de-icing fluid, fuel, and hydraulic fluid. Launches and recovers assigned and transient aircraft; performs inspections prior ot takeoff. Inspects for conditions such as oil, fuel, and hydraulic leak, cut lines, tires and loose panels.

(3) May be required to perform such additional duties as fire fighting, aircraft crash/rescue, snow removal, etc.

(4) Perform other duties as assigned.

As a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC (SMALL SHOP CHIEF), WG-2604-12, duties include:

-- Plans and lays out work to be accomplished in the shop, which, is then completed, by the incumbent and lower graded mechanic(s). Determines approaches, methods and courses of action required to accomplish the mission of the shop in an effective and efficient manner. Independently determines appropriate maintenance procedures. Estimates time, equipment and material requirements. Devises and maintains plans and records. Provides recommendations and input to the supervisor concerning personnel actions such as performance appraisals, awards, position description changes, disciplinary actions, and leave.

-- Performs the full range of shop work.

-- Performs in-process, final inspection, and clear status symbols certifying work performed by others in shop.

-- Implements safety regulatory requirements. Ensures that other workers in the shop wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions.

-- Prepares for, and participates in, various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.
