About the role
Reporting into the Licensing team but managing all the financial processes on behalf of the department, you will undertake and stay on top of a range of finance administrative tasks.

This will include raising invoices and running sales reports as well as tracking royalty statements against advances and Minimum Income Guarantees. You will also assist with picture library requests, responding to enquiries. And as we update our picture library platform, you will ensure the changeover is smooth and the new process is successful.

This role can be based at any of Science Museum Group sites, depending on your preference - London, Bradford, York or Manchester although you will be required to visit London where the team is based. We can also offer hybrid working that includes flexibility to work from home on a regular basis.

To check Sales Ledger invoices for accuracy, i.e. correct rate, Company / Travel agent name, address and ensure that all relevant information and backup is attached.
All Invoices need to be sent either by post or email within 5 working days of them being City Ledgered.
All Sales Ledger queries received from Guests and Companies to be dealt with on the day received.
Create and process concessionaire invoices as well as credit notes as and when required.
To administer and communicate the process and requests of "new" client set ups on Opera.
Check, create & send Airline Invoices / summaries to Airlines as agrred.
Hold weekly meeting to monitor that Paymasters (One Accounts in Guest Ledger) are being closed off on a timely basis

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer (Management Accounts) to join our team in Oldham on a full time, fixed term basis for 6 months. Hybrid working opportunities are available.

Reporting to the Finance Partner - Asset Management, you will ensure monthly financial processes and procedures are completed to provide accurate and timely management accounts information.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the Assistant Accountant and Finance Partner
• Support in the production of the monthly management accounts.
• Review, calculate and post accruals and adjustment journals.
• Assist in running reports and providing information for budget holders and provide analysis of variances to budget/forecast.
• Exercise internal controls, highlight errors and take action to rectify them where necessary.
• Provide support with annual budget setting and quarterly/monthly forecasting.

What we're looking for
We're a customer-focused organisation so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You'll not only be an experienced Finance Officer, but you'll also have great attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.

You'll also be able to demonstrate:

• Good working knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
• Experience of calculating and posting accruals and adjustment journals.
• Experience of producing financial reports and related information for budget holders.
• Experience of month end financial processes.
• Good understanding of internal financial controls.
• Proven customer service experience.
• Good attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Essential qualifications

• AAT or part qualified CCAB

Our client seeks a motivated, intelligent individual with some insurance experience (not necessarily broking) to join our dynamic team in Hale who have a name for very high quality service, internal support and working with some of the biggest names in their chosen markets.

The role will involve significant admin work so needs someone who knows the industry and the importance of working at speed with a high level of detail. You will be handling MTAs, renewals, and new business for high-end clients (Up to £500k GWP). They offer comprehensive training in all aspects of insurance broking, with opportunities for growth within 12 months. The person in this role previously is now a client facing broker getting out on the road meeting with all kinds of exciting businesses.
