Completes the standardized cleaning process in patient rooms, offices, departments, and other ancillary areas utilizing the appropriate cleaning procedures.

• Performs timely patient room cleaning and provides cleaning support to the various departments; cleans daily in all areas including discharge cleaning, patient room cleaning, cycle cleaning, office cleaning and all ancillary area cleaning to ensure the continuity and efficiency of patient care and daily operations. Cleaning of assigned building exteriors. Refilling of dispensers in all required areas and collection of all receptacles. (55%)

• Actively participates in and accomplishes Patient Satisfaction initiatives to meet department goals. (10%)

This job provides direct care to patients and assists with non-direct patient care unit coordination. They is expected to use accurate verbal and written communication, and to document patient care appropriately in the electronic medical record. The incumbent works under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse for patients in stable condition. Will work under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse in the care of the acutely ill and/or complex patient. The incumbent receives specific work assignments from the Charge Nurse and/or Care Team Leader which are both written & verbal and is expected to demonstrate evidence of efficient time management by completing the work within the scheduled time. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the incumbent is expected to perform a variety of duties related to the coordination of activities on the inpatient unit. This includes activities related to patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities such as: activities of daily living, skin survey, vital signs, ambulation, specimen collection, intake and output, meal consumption, height and weight, blood glucose testing/monitoring, point of care testing, bladder scanning, transporting of patients and their medical record, documentation of O2, early mobilization and ambulation protocols, assistance with exam, treatments and procedures. (30%)
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives which may include bedside shift report, purposeful hourly rounding promoting safety such as falls prevention, hand washing, isolation protocols and maintaining a clean and orderly environment. (30%)
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I&O, restraints, specimen collection, and all other treatments. Report changes in patient's physical, mental and emotional conditions, as well as any issues or concerns identified to nursing staff. (20%)
• Participates in unit activity such as supply stocking and equipment/appliance cleaning, checks and retrieval. (20%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• High School Diploma or GED
• CPR Certification
• Limited or no experience: Must be able to attend 2 weeks of training
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions

• Basic computer skills

• Acute care experience with in the last 3 years
• Currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program. Preference given to those enrolled in Associates or Bachelor’s degree Nursing programs and completed at least one clinical rotation

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job, under the direct supervision of a pharmacist performs a wide variety of technical and clinical duties for the hospital wide unit-dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program. • Compounds, stocks, repackages and batches from bulk medications. Prepares routine patient orders for IV pharmaceuticals including compounding, preparation, and labeling of any IV admixture including antibiotics, solutions, irrigations, narcotics, parenteral nutrition, and chemotherapy.
• Maintains competence required for current position and has ability to perform all technician duties to assist in training of new employees and students.
• Contributes to the effective operation of the department through all activities including computer functions, process cart fill lists, pick lists, refill medications, generation of labels, and answers phones appropriately. Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Participates in continuous performance improvement and regulatory compliance efforts. Takes responsibility for quality improvement efforts and then monitors processes and results.
• Maintains an attitude that promotes and fosters an environment of safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Enrolled in a School of Pharmacy OR
• Foreign pharmacy graduate and has applied for an intern license within the state of PA.

  • Maintain one of the following: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)

GENERAL OVERVIEW

• Distribution/Processing: Processes prescription medication orders including computer order entry, medication preparation and assembles all required items prior to the pharmacist's final check. Intakes patient's prescriptions documenting all required information, handles telephone interactions and releases medication as required by policy/procedure. All steps are done in a courteous and efficient manner.

Validates Medicaid, Medicare or commercial insurance drug coverage and ensures adjudication is complete addressing any error messages. All steps are done in a courteous and efficient manner.
• Handles cash and other monies: Collects money and provides patient with a detailed receipt of any cash or other money transactions and processes sales through the point of sale system. Prepares deposit and accounting reports according to Department and Health Network standards. Responsible for maintaining assigned cash fund.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

• Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required within 24 months of hire. (Incumbents in role as of July 1, 2022 have until January 1, 2024 to obtain certification.)
• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program or 1 year equivalent experience in lieu of formal training program required.

Preferred

• Minimum of 2 years pharmacy experience in respective area preferred.

The Unit:

Allegheny General's Radiology Department has 4 Interventional labs, 5 CTs, 3 MRIs, fluoroscopy, general x-ray, US, and nuclear medicine.

RNs are trained to circulate and provide moderate sedation during invasive procedures and diagnostic exams.

We treat embolic stroke, arterial occlusion, tumors with chemo and radiation, insert vascular access devices, preform biopsies, arterial and venous embolization, arterial and venous thrombectomy, TIPS, chronic pain.

Work directly and collaboratively with Radiologist and Technologists

State-of-the-art imaging equipment as well as a new environment of care. 

Nurses who work in the AGH Radiology Department support one of the best interventional stroke and trauma programs in western PA.

These are invasive procedures much like the OR sterile, often times with anesthesia.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Delivers professional nursing care within the perioperative arena to patients undergoing operative or other invasive procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates use of supplies, instrumentation and equipment for pre and intraoperative care and ensures that the equipment is functioning properly.
• Performs circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
• Acts as patient advocate and documents preoperative and intraoperative care delivered in compliance with hospital, departmental and regulatory agencies.
• Monitors the surgical environment to ensure that aseptic technique is followed by the surgical team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• Current RN PA license in good standing
• Minimum one year recent ICU or Radiology RN experience
• Must live within 30 minutes of Allegheny General for call
