THIS ROLE IS ONLY APPLICABLE FOR CANDIDATES PERMANENTLY RESIDING IN THE PHILIPPINES
The Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for the administration, documentation, performance, tuning, design, integrity and security of the enterprise’ production databases (mainly SQL), data transfers, and systems. In addition to traditional DBA maintenance, this role is expected to support DBA improvements and plan for the future, including incorporating best practices, emerging techniques and tools, etc.
Additionally, the DBA will assist the Infrastructure & Operation teams with planning, developing and troubleshooting of applications.
This role will need flexible work shift options to support teams in US, Bermuda, and Europe.
Work hours for this role are Tuesdays to Saturday US Eastern Time (Philippines Night Shift)
- Performance tuning of production databases, as well as the development, implementation, deployments, migrations, and upgrades of databases.
- Database development (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server Database), data analytics, and data visualization tools (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Snowflake).
- Analyzes and resolves end user software application incidents and/or problems as it relates to the enterprise databases, in a timely and accurate manner.
- Escalates incidents and/ or problems to other teams as needed.
- Perform maintenance or project tasks as required and scheduled to maintain databases.
- Deployments of Database Scripts, Jobs, Schema Changes, compliance changes.
- Responsible for data load/refresh of UAT and Dev environments.
- Determine changes in physical database by studying project requirements, identifying database characteristics, such as location, amount of space, and access method.
- Provide guidance in the creation and modification of standards and procedures.
- Perform the integration of system and software as required.
- Ensure backups and technical patching are successfully completed, and resolve issues if required.
- Document tasks/activities within the ITSM (i.e. Service Now, JIRA) system to ensure conformance with IT, SDLC, and security standards and requirements.
