Service: Housing Services, Development and Economic Growth

We are seeking a key member of staff to join our Housing Strategy Team.
The post holder will assist the Research & Development Officer to delivery high quality services and best value to service users by ensuring that all agreed plans are implemented efficiently and effectively. In particular:
- assist in the preparation, production and dissemination of the Council’s Local Housing Strategy.
- monitor and prepare reports on local housing strategy and associated strategic plans
- co-ordinate arrangements for strategic partnership meetings.
- collate, analyse and present data for the production of the Housing Needs and Demand Assessment.
- review and update Housing Market Area profiles
- assist with the production of reports/plans/strategies/presentations and background materials for the housing service
- liaise with partners/consultants and all stakeholders in relation to production of strategic housing plans
- maintain accurate and up to date information for all housing related websites in Argyll and Bute (eg Council and HOMEArgyll)
- maintain an up to date knowledge of all relevant Housing Strategy Guidance.
- respect the confidentiality of clients, colleagues and other Department/Agencies at all times.
- work within the Equal Opportunities policies and other values of the Council.
This is a temporary, full time post, 35 hrs per week, worked Monday to Friday 9am -5pm with an hour for lunch.
The successful candidate will meet the following essential criteria:
- 3 Standard Grades Level 1,2, (including Maths and English
- Experience of research including statistical analysis and data handling
- Minute Taking
- Excel spreadsheets
- The jobholder will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Argyll and Bute and beyond to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; numeracy and organisational skills
- Ability to input data accurately and efficiently
It is desirable that the post holder has:
- HNC in related field or Housing Diploma Level 4
- Front line experience of housing or related service
- Knowledge of Housing Market System
