Report any adverse events and reactions in accordance with this policy and the trial protocol. At all times to ensure clear, accurate records are maintained by the team. Implement and adhere to the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and ensure that all trials are conducted according to the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trial) Regulations 2004 and Amended Regulations 2006 where appropriate. Perform tasks requiring highly developed clinical skills including phlebotomy, cannulation and be able to care for patients in the critical care environment. To oversee the routine maintenance and servicing of clinical equipment MANAGEMENT: To act as clinical supervisor to junior research staff and act as a role model for excellence in clinical research. To represent Guys and St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust as an expert research nurse in external situations, for example national and international conferences, committees etc. To report any adverse incident/near misses in relation to that activity To facilitate and maintain effective communication within the clinical team. You’ll also have experience in empirical social science design and execution, covering statistics, causal inference and data science. Knowledge of large-scale business data handling such as databases and SQL would be beneficial, as would an understanding of retail banking, financial markets and code development and quality assurance practices such as Git, GitLab and GitHub.

South London Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN) is looking for an enthusiastic Research Nurse to join the Agile Workforce team.

The Research Nurse will play a key role in ensuring that any research undertaken within the Care settings department safeguards the wellbeing of the patients and is conducted according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trial) Regulations 2004 and Amended Regulations 2006.

Working collaboratively with the clinical trials team and the wider multidisciplinary team in the management of research patients. They will also act as a patient advocate providing support and assistance as required and assist in the coordination and management of a portfolio of clinical research studies.

The post holder will be required to work flexibly across sites within the RDN: South London geography. The employing Trust will be Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

If applying as a registered nurse you must have appropriate UK professional registration.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering an agreed number of portfolios of clinical trials within the Secondary, Primary Care and Community settings across the South London region. They will work flexibly across the disciplines to ensure the success of the clinical research projects they are assigned to. The Research Nurse will play a key role in identifying opportunities to broaden the current portfolio.

The applicant must have considerable experience of working independently and have excellent organisational and time management skill.

● Ensure that written informed consent has always been obtained for any treatment provided for, or any sample or data taken from a Volunteer which will form part of a research study, in accordance with the Trust research governance arrangements and Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials Regulations) Regulations 2004 and Amended Regulations 2006. ● Have responsibility for the correct administration and custody of medicines according to Trust policy.

● Ensure the safe custody of volunteer’s property in accordance with Trust policies.

● Promote and participate in the implementation of policies within the Centre and to ensure compliance with Trust, Government and EU Directives.
● Maintain accurate documentation in clinical trial documents and patient notes.
● Ensure that clinical trials are effectively archived as required.
● Assist in the process of gaining local regulatory committee approval (ethics and R&D approval).

Short summary

The Quantitative Stem Cell Biology lab, headed by Dr Silvia Santos, is seeking a Senior Laboratory Research Scientist (SLRS). The successful candidate will investigate spatio-temporal control of cell division and cell cycle remodelling during cellular differentiation using 2D and 3D stem cell-based models of human gastrulation. The postholder will drive a research project and contribute to collaborative projects within the lab. The postholder will benefit from excellent mentorship and training.

The research group
The Quantitative Stem Cell Biology lab, headed by Dr Silvia Santos, was established in 2018 at the Francis Crick Institute. The lab’s primary focus is understanding cell decision-making. Current areas of research include understanding regulatory mechanism regulating cell fate specification, cell cycle remodeling during cellular differentiation and the interplay between metabolism, cell cycle and cell fate. There is a strong focus on single cell analysis and advanced live cell imaging. The lab uses a variety of model systems: mouse and human embryonic stem cells (ESC), 3D organoid models of mouse and human development and mouse embryos.
The team is multi-disciplinary, diverse and currently composed of three PhD students, two post-doctoral fellow and one principal laboratory research scientist. The Santos lab promotes independent and creative thinking and all members are committed to providing excellent training and mentorship.

You'll also have very well-defined success metrics (e.g. detection rate, alert rate) and an abundance of meaningful, complex data for you to get stuck into.
