Serves as a Quality Improvement and Infection Control Nurse in the Health Services Department of a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) federal correctional facility.

Manage the local infection prevention and control program under the guidance of the national Infection Prevention and Control Officer, Office of Quality Management, Central Office, Washington, D.C., and performs quality improvement activities to improve health care outcomes.

Performs surveillance of infections and diseases, management of the tuberculosis prevention and control program, contact investigations and containment of infectious disease outbreaks, infection prevention activities including immunization administration and tracking for inmates and staff, education related to infection control practices, collection and analysis of data to reduce risk and improve health outcomes.

The postholder will take responsibility for operational matters relating to Health and Safety Planning and Management and contribute to the Estates & Facilities Management Strategic plan.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain configuration-controlled documentation for the AFSCN configuration including assembly, sub-assembly, and system level BOM structures for sustainment and modification through the CAMMO program. This includes product lifecycle management to include document identification, data entry and management of engineering documentation, drawings, vendor information, revision levels, where used, etc.
• Analyzes proposed changes to determine effect on overall system. Review and process engineering change proposals (ECP)
• Administer Engineering Review Board (ERB)/Change Control Board (CCB) documentation and convene ERB/CCB meetings as necessary to review proposed changes affecting established baselines.
• Participate in Quality audits as necessary to meet certification requirements. Maintain statistics to support typical audits.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:  

Education:  Associates Degree in Technology with focus in Industrial Engineering, Drafting, Engineering Records, Supply Chain Management or related technical degree degree and 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, skills and experience. 

Experience:

• Familiarization with Configuration Management Standards
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Self -starter and able to manage multiple competing demands.

The desired candidate will understand NIST SP 800-53 and SP 800-37, Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) guidance utilizing the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and track projects in Xacta. 

More About the Role:

• Support the cyber security mission of Distributed Ground System-Experimental (DGS-X) information systems (IS) and networks, most notably the Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) legacy and Open Architecture (OA) enterprise.

• Experience with evaluating Information Assurance compliance of a system against current RMF and expertise DoD Cybersecurity policies as outlined in NIST SP 800-37 and 800-53.

• Identify and solve technical issues relating to system hardening ensuring system availability, integrity, authentication and confidentiality.

• Perform assessment and compliance activities by using the assessment tools and procedures within the Xacta IA Manager to manage security compliance and risk, upload artifacts, and track projects as they flow through the RMF process.

• Interface with the Program Management Office (PMO) and Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) while completing security controls implementation, self-compliance tests, security test plans, and creating/updating the Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M).

• Host and support Security Controls Assessors (SCA) in performing remote A&A events of worldwide operational DCGS sites.

• Working knowledge of Contingency Planning, Continuous Monitoring, Vulnerability Management, Disaster Recovery, and Incident Response programs.

• Provide final approval of all account creation request ensuring the proper documents and certificates are included; perform annual verification.

• Utilize NIST Security Controls and Control Implementation methodologies to the A&A process.

• DOD Directive 8570 IAT II certification (Security+ or equivalent).
