The Opportunity
This Quality Training Specialist position works out of our Altavista, VA location in the Abbott Nutrition Division. This position could have some off shift requirements.
- Lead and support QA training requirements across the AN manufacturing site.
- Provide direction and guidance to the QA Training resources at the site. Manages the team's workload and is responsible for performance management.
- Support the business by assessing the learning need and developing/modifying QA training materials in accordance with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate) principles.
- Apply Adult Learning Principles to QA course development.
- Develop QA training content and materials based on AN's learning methodology.
- Design and develop QA microlearning's, computer-based-training, instructor-led-training, job aides and other training support materials as needed.
What You’ll Work On
- Provide ongoing QA training support to the manufacturing site to ensure a compliant training requirements management system. This includes QA onboarding and identification of site QA training needs. Will support QA training needs related to CAPA and audit actions.
- Create, maintain and update User accounts and training assignments in the Learning Management System.
- Work closely with Division QA and site QA leadership to continuously improve QA training.
- Design, develop and deliver QA Training Courses/materials to meet business needs.
- Provide guidance and direction to QA training resources at the site. Balances the teams workload and is responsible for performance management.
- Sets annual performance goals. Identify barriers/obstacles to achieving agreed upon goals and escalate as needed to Regional QA Training Manager.
- Help to conduct QA training needs assessments and gap analysis.
- Help establish training effectiveness measures and evaluate QA training effectiveness. Analyze data to drive continuous improvement of QA training content.
- Conduct business in a manner that will protect our product, our customers and our brand by complying with all applicable AQR and Division policies and procedures, EHS laws, as well as the Abbott Global and Technical Standards.
- Follow a structured approach to QA Training/Learning content/material development.
- Develop QA training in a variety of formats to support the business (i.e.; instructor-led-training, computer-based-training, training modules, microlearning’s, 1PLs, On-the-Job-Training (OJT) and competency assessments.
- Participate in Global and Site Cross-Functional Teams to assist with the development of global QA courses/training materials. Helps to ensure applicability of new courses to the site.
- Working closely with Division QA, will help bring new technologies to QA training to help enhance/improve the learning process. For example, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), hybrid learning.
- Interface with SMEs; business functional areas and site QA as necessary to design and develop QA training courses/materials.
- When needed, will help support Project Safeguard workstreams training requests. Will translate identified training needs into QA training/learning solutions in line with project timelines.
- Responsible for the ongoing evaluation and implementation of continuous improvement in relation to QA training/learning materials/courses.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Education, Science Engineering, Human Resources, Business, or Instructional Design OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Nutrition or other FDA regulated industry.
- Experience developing training courses/materials, reviewing existing quality training courses.
- Experience utilizing word processing software (e.g. Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
- Some knowledge of adult learning delivery techniques and general principles of adult learning a plus.
