As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC, WG-5801-10, you will troubleshoot, perform maintenance and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical, automotive vehicles; troubleshoot, repairs/overhauls major systems to include internal combustion engines, turbine engines, automatic, heavy duty drive line systems, hydraulic utility systems, controls; perform work in accordance with modification work orders, technical manuals, lubrication orders, maintenance bulletins, regulations or management policies; troubleshoot equipment; diagnose cause of mechanical failures by means of visual/auditory checks and/or use test equipment such as engine analyzers, compression testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters, pressure gauges, computer diagnostic tools; remove/ disassemble engines/major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, fuel, hydraulic, oil pressure systems; make adjustments/ repairs to electrical/suspension systems; perform repairs, maintenance functions in remote locations by removing, cleaning, reinstalling, replacing defective parts of components and systems such as injectors, leaking wheel cylinders, corroded mufflers, fuel tanks, brake cylinders, worn brake shoes; provide technical guidance, specialized team leadership to lower grade employees within the team; assist lower grade mechanics in performing major repair work; assist higher graded mechanics in repairing interconnected systems such as electrical, air/hydraulic systems, complex state of the art electrical and electronic systems that use specialized diagnostic equipment to identify problems, complex fuel injection systems; similar complex systems; perform operational inspections ensures vehicles/ equipment are properly serviced, including brake adjustments, replacing hydraulic fluids, greasing, cleaning, and performs other preventive maintenance operations as required; inspect in-process repair work of lower graded repairer to ensure equipment is being repaired in accordance with requirements; maintain/repair electronics communication equipment by removing/ replacing components/elements; assist in the maintenance of production reports and records, make recommendations to supervisor as to adjustments necessary to effectively, efficiently and economically accomplish the work and maximize production.

Drives and operates firefighting vehicles of significant complexity to respond to the presence or potential releases of hazardous materials (HAZMAT), for the purpose of stopping or controlling the release, and to conduct performance of noninvasive emergency medical procedures.

Duties
1. This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19.
2. Performs hazard and risk assessment and conducts a complete incident analysis. Performs Basic Life Support. Initiates established medical protocols in providing basic life support. Performs noninvasive emergency procedures: conducts initial and on-going patient assessment and physical examination; maintains airway, breathing, and circulation; determines priority of care; monitors patient's baseline vital signs: performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillation (AED).
3. Drives and operates firefighting vehicles, such as pumpers, aerial ladder trucks, and Airport Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles.
4. Performs crash-rescue and firefighting duties involving air traffic or support operations where hazardous conditions are such that the expectancy for fire is high and potential for becoming destructive is great. Performs structural firefighting duties for a variety of facilities, which may include large multistoried buildings, industrial areas, and/or base storage facilities.
5. Maintains firefighting equipment and fire station facilities. Complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.

As a Biological Science Technician your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assists in planning wildlife censuses and surveys such as establishing schedules and procedures to accomplish surveys. Independently carries out wildlife studies by following research methods and established procedures for accomplishing
  and reporting the work. Monitors and implement activities related to conservation, management, and/or control of wildlife. Monitors and assists in control of wildlife, plant disease outbreaks, pest plant control, mowing/seeding activities and vegetation removal. Captures, applies visual and radio tags, and gathers physiological and spatial data on wildlife.
• Assists in planning plants surveys and recommends plant management practices.
  Assists in planning habitat management activities designed to monitor, control, and eradicate non-native or invasive plant species and/or limit plant disease outbreaks. Independently carries out plant studies by following research methods and
  established procedures for accomplishing and reporting the work.
• Collects, assesses, and organizes biological and physical environment data from field investigations and reports findings to determine actual and potential impact on fish, wildlife or plant resources from development projects, restoration projects or habitat improvement projects.
