Major duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Serves as a Police Officer carrying out responsibilities where most work is performed on Veterans Affairs Departmental properties, which includes any properties owned, leased, or licensed to VA.
2. Provides policing services in a variety of jurisdictional environments where each type of jurisdiction (Exclusive, Concurrent and Proprietorial) has different enforcement rules and requires Police Officers to understand the complexities and legally apply the correct set of laws, regulations, and processes.

Protects Veterans, employees and visitors sensitive and protected medical information from unauthorized release or unauthorized use where prohibited by law and or policy as guided by the privacy officer, FOIA, HIPPA, etc. Carries firearms and other VA approved weapons, intervenes when necessary to deescalate situations and determines when and how much force must be applied.
7. Advises individuals of their (Miranda, Weingarten, Garrity, etc.) rights, and protects the constitutional and civil rights of persons. Conducts investigations with a nexus to VA, prisoner transports, patient search and recovery, life-saving efforts, disaster response and recovery, asset protection during transit, training, and other matters.

• Answers 911 calls and performs caller interrogation to determine the chief complaint and the nature of the call.
• Determines the level and type of response necessary and initiates the dispatch for both emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Initiates immediate action in response to all alarms to include coordination with effected agencies and dispatching appropriate response.
• Refers non-emergent callers to appropriate civilian and governmental agencies.

As a SECURITY SPECIALIST (UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER), GS-0080-09, you will manage deployment and logistical assets to ensure productive and effective utilization of materiel funding and requirements for all Security Forces tasks and responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned.

As a PHYSICAL SECURITY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-09, you will be responsible for the management and administration of the Intrusion Detection System (IDS)program. Advises the MAJCOM SF IDS program manager of any base or site activities that will impact the Integrated Base Defense Security Systems (IBDSS) program. This includes, but is not limited to, mission changes resulting in increase or decrease of resources, reconfiguration of resource areas, and construction of facilities on or in the vicinity of current and planned sensor locations. Reports and documents all IDS maintenance requirements to the servicing maintenance organization. Monitors IDS false and nuisance alarms and, when necessary, requests assistance from the maintenance organization to resolve problems and deficiency. Coordinates with maintenance and materiel management functions to ensure sufficient spare parts and maintenance are available to support the IBDSS equipment and component. Other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.

Leidos, under the NISC IV program, is seeking experienced candidates for the role of Civil Engineer to serve as project engineers responsible for planning and design activities to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) facility modernization projects. This position involves the development of project plans, project scopes, schedules, costs, and resource requirements and the development of drawings, specifications, and risk management documents in coordination with facility stakeholders from Technical Operations and Air Traffic organizations. This includes environmental equipment and mechanical system installations, roofing, parking lots, facility refurbishment, and security door installations. These projects are in the Central Service Area of the FAA and are managed out of regional offices located in Fort Worth, Texas, Des Plaines, IL and Kansas City, MO.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Perform on-site surveys to develop “to-scale” designs and detailed reports.
• Generate sketches showing relation of proposed installation in existing or new facilities with exact specifications and dimensions.
• Participate in construction inspections and final inspections.
• Confer with engineering staff and other personnel to identify and resolve problems with the design or implementation.
• Coordinate design components with a multi-disciplinary as required for site-specific modifications and new construction.
• Prepare AutoCAD construction drawings and prepare site-specific specifications and contract documents and independent cost estimates.
• Perform project management related tasks and communication (including safety plans, sequence of work, cutover plans).
• Generate and coordinate the Integrated Risk Management Checklists (IRMC), communication plans, project risk register, to meet Operational Risk Management (ORM) requirements.

• Monitor progress of projects and stakeholder needs.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have a Civil or Structural Engineering degree from a 4 year ABET accredited College/University
• At least 6 years of experience of foundation design as well as industrial structural systems (steel and concrete) is required with commercial, industrial and/or government facilities.
• Must have current and relevant knowledge of building structural codes to be able to perform structural design calculations and conduct engineering assessments.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Engineering Scheduling tools and applications, and be able to use the Internet as a gathering and communicating tool.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD / MicroStation.
• Ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form. 
• Ability to accomplish clear and concise general and technical writing and tactfully coordinate with a variety of project stake holders, peers, and management levels.
• Ability to maintain an electronic project folder (as required) related to site preparation and equipment installation problems.
• Must be able to obtain an FAA Public Trust prior to starting. To be eligible for the Public Trust Suitability you must be either a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder who has resided in the United States for the past 3 years.
