Serves as an engineer within the Federal Aviation Administration. In this capacity, directly participates in and is responsible for planning, developing, reviewing, and evaluating major aviation safety research initiatives. Uses professional engineering principles on a wide variety of research efforts that lead to a safe, efficient, and cost-effective National Airspace System (NAS) through the research & development of innovative aviation technologies.

Develops and implements independent and interdependent engineering studies to resolve issues and/or identify problems. Analyzes, tests and evaluates operational and technical information; identifies, mitigates or resolves current or potential problems with systems. Evaluates existing/proposed policies, standards, requirements, and objectives for efficient performance of programs and systems. As the Civil Engineer in this position, you will:

• Conduct engineering analysis by performing and coordinating technical planning activities, data collection that includes validation and management, modeling and data analysis, analysis of site location and conditions, risk estimation and analysis, and analysis of instrumentation data.
• Provide oversight of on-site construction work, including inspection and acceptance of work performed by a contractor.
• Review designs for constructability, drafts specifications, determines and evaluates construction sequencing, researches and prepares cost estimates.
• Design drainage structures, evaluates hydraulic capacities.
• Use application of applied mechanics, including the distribution of loads, stresses from static and dynamic loads, and strength of materials and structural dynamics.
• Complete engineering designs.
• Prepare government cost estimates.
• Prepare contract solicitation packages.
• Perform facility maintenance inspections and condition assessments.

• Participate in general planning activities for infrastructure, water and power supply, environmental compliance, and other needs in a changing climate across the Upper Colorado Basin Region's service areas, including for Reclamation's reserved and transferred water systems.
• Serve as a Project Manager for engineering and climate-change planning investigations as needed, and provides technical support to planning investigations and environmental compliance and science and technology activities throughout the Upper Colorado Basin Region.
• Serve as a technical representative on engineering and science related contracts and grants, and on application review committees.
• Serve as a liaison for the Region for private, local, state, Tribal and federal entities on issues related to engineering and science, and projects being funded or performed by Reclamation.
• Represent the Upper Colorado Basin Regional Office on a variety of technical working groups related to infrastructure and water supply planning, climate-change planning across Reclamation mission areas, science and technology programs, modeling, environmental monitoring, and database management.

• Plans, develops, and coordinates implementation of the Project's portion of the NWW Reliability Compliance Program.
• Serves as Project Point of Contact (POC) and technical authority for all reliability compliance matters with operations, maintenance and management groups at the Project.
• Represents the Project at meetings and conferences concerning reliability compliance and related technical matters, staying informed of reliability compliance requirements and issues and providing feedback.
• Develops and executes the District's NERC/WECC compliance Quality Assurance (QA) program to ensure Project Compliance with the Reliability Standards and that auditable supporting documentation demonstrating compliance has been prepared and archived

Data Engineer will work closely with the rest of the product team and business peers to effectively execute Data project initiatives. This person should be able to deliver in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
