Job Description:
The Construction Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and maintaining data within the construction department and ensuring accurate item level details in our Pricebook, including cost, quantity, and description as they relate to the construction and retrofit of retail locations. This person is well-versed in data visualization and applies their construction industry knowledge by working with end users to understand reporting requirements and developing solutions to meet those needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain databases and reporting tools related to pre-construction, project build-times, project costing, equipment life cycle and other construction data.
- Dig into the data and ensure accuracy against other reporting tools within the organization; support the development of recommendations to reduce inefficiencies and/or optimize spend.
- Ensure prototype purchase schedules accurately depict the required information when creating budgets.
- Work with other departments to ensure they are providing input for the Pricebook on a regular basis.
- Update and maintain the Pricebook for the construction team.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and/or disruptions to cost and services.
- Help foster a data-driven culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, data analytics, construction management, finance or related field of study with a knowledge of and passion for construction
- 2+ years experience working a construction services/back-office role highly preferred.
- Preferred experience in data analysis and visualization.
- Advanced skills in Excel, and working knowledge of PowerBI preferred.
- Knowledge of data/information solutions lifecycle – from conceptual phase to maintenance.
- Ability to work with others to organize, standardize, and solicit data.
- Experience in presenting on your findings in a confident and concise way.
- Firm understanding of the construction life cycle and construction processes.
- Strong problem solving and organizational skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced ever-changing environment.
