Observational Research Manager - US Remote

Key Activities include:

• Manages descriptive epidemiologic studies to characterize the incidence/prevalence of disease in US, EU, Asia, and emerging market countries

• Responsible for key internal Alcon safety documents. Develop and update these documents with new or changes in product safety information. Ensure accurate and high quality outputs.
• Responsible for overall signal detection, monitoring, evaluation, and appropriate management of safety information from relevant line functions, clinical studies, post-marketing experience, literature, and other sources. Lead the Safety Management Team (SMT).
• Responsible for post-market surveillance plans, periodic safety updates, product labelling and related documents, including safety information to support product claims.
• Responsible for health hazard assessments and responses to inquiries from health authorities, health care professionals, and legal on safety issues. Prepare safety data for health authority review boards.
• Provide medical and scientific guidance to local affiliates on safety issues.
• Provide medical and scientific input to the clinical development program for assigned projects/brands. This includes input to Data Safety Monitoring Board and Safety Adjudication Committee activities, as required.
• Provide integrated safety input into all regulatory documents required during active product development.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Creates capital budget request for purchase of component molds

• Manages capital projects which includes managing project schedule, providing accurate cash flow, keeping internal and external stakeholders up to date on project status etc.

• Provides design feedback and input to suppliers on component mold design and provides final approval on mold build/refurbishments.

• Creates and manages change control for all critical projects.

• Designs, develops, and tests a wide variety of containers used for the protection, display, and handling of products.

• Determines packaging specifications according to the nature of the product, cost limitations, legal requirements, and the type of protection required, considering need for resistance to such external variables as moisture, corrosive chemicals, temperature variations, light, heat, rough handling, and tampering.

• Designs package exteriors considering such factors as product identification, sales appeal, aesthetic quality, printing and production techniques. Responsibilities may include documentation management and/or coordination of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and may support prototype line development in manufacturing facilities/plants

The Regulatory Real World Evidence (RWE) and Data Strategy Manager sits within the Center for Observational Research’s (CfOR), Data & Analytic Center (DAC) and is dedicated to providing oversight for Real world Data (RWD) strategy and RWD inventory for all of CfOR. Liaise between CfOR Product Leads and the CfOR DAC to provide fit-for-purpose support and strategic RWD options for producing RWE. Additional responsibilities include handling external RWD partnerships and collaborations and contributing to advancing methods for producing RWE for regulatory decision making.

Key Activities include:

• Lead or contribute to development of innovative methods to further CfOR capabilities in assessing or supporting data purchases.
• Conduct RWD Mapping and gap analyses: Mapping of Product pipeline and portfolio to RWE use cases to RWD assets
