Expert Lead Cardiac Physiologist / Scientist - Echocardiography Education & Research
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, dynamic individual to lead education and research in our echocardiography department.
The applicant must be working as an expert independent clinical practitioner who provides clinical expertise at an expert specialist level and have experience with teaching at both local and national level.
Candidates will be required to assist the departmental management team in providing strategic management leadership. They must have the ability to work under pressure, prioritise their own workload, and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high quality diagnostic services.
The candidate will develop training plans and deliver educational content at both undergraduate and post graduate level. They will also plan, co-ordinate and participate in multi-disciplinary research activity and provide a level of support to the Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility.
This position offers excellent developmental opportunities and requires the individual to be a positive driver for change within cardiac diagnostic services at MFT.
Provide leadership and development for all practitioners in the Cardiac Physiology Department, particularly in echocardiography.
As an expert in the field of education, provide education to external institutions, inclusive of primary care and all professional bodies within Cardiology.
Exercise initiative and judgement in solving problems and making decisions that affect own areas of work recognising when there is a need to refer problems to Senior Management or Consultant staff.
Independently collates complex clinical information from multiple sources to determine optimal procedure methodology.
Independently obtains and analyses complex data, performs complex calculations, determines interpretation and independently compiles accurate written complex technical reports for case notes.
Communicates independent interpretations of complex technical & physiological data to guide physicians throughout high risk provocative procedures (e.g. during complex device implantation, primary coronary angioplasty, cardiac imaging procedures).
Analyses highly complex data, performs complex calculations, determines interpretation and independently compiles accurate written complex technical reports for case notes.
Regularly supervises individuals working/observing in the clinical environment including visitors from other trusts and organisation.
