Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week 8.30 – 3.30 TTO plus 5 inset days This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic, highly motivated and dedicated staff team as an Education, Health and Care Assistant at New Fosseway School. The role of an Education, Health and Care Assistant is to provide support to pupils to help assist the class teacher in the delivery of the curriculum and EHCP provision. You will provide support with dietary needs, administration of medication, emergency procedures, mobility and personal care. Please refer to the recruitment pack attached which will outline in more detail the key responsibilities for the position. You don’t need experience to apply for this role but you do need empathy and compassion, physical and mental resilience and the drive to make a real difference to the lives of our young people.
About New Fosseway School New Fosseway School is a special school for pupils between the ages of 4—19. We offer high quality education for children with a range of needs including severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorder. Pupils are grouped by ability and to meet their social needs rather than age. They learn core skills including Literacy, Numeracy and Science as well as life and living skills including cookery and gardening. Some of our pupils are non-verbal using alternative means of communication including Makaton, signs, symbols or communication aids, often using a multi-sensory approach. Supporting our students can sometimes be challenging. They may get frustrated, anxious and emotional and you will need to guide them through it by helping them to manage their feelings and behaviour.
