Wealth Risk Process and Technology Oversight Director

We are looking for an experienced, energetic leader who will be responsible for oversight of risk process execution/ technology initiatives for Wealth risk management. 

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Private Bank/Wealth Management, specifically across risk management/risk systems/operations, with respected subjected matter expertise (SME), great interpersonal skills and ability to provide credible challenge.

Team/Role Overview

USPB (US Personal Banking) Risk CAO (Credit risk Officer) organization provides a global focus for risk management strategy and execution oversight for compliance with Citi Policies and Regulatory requirements, and driving Strong Risk Management - for USPB Risk, Wealth Risk and Legacy Franchises/Banking & International Retail Risk Management. 

The Wealth Risk Process and Technology Oversight Director role is critical to wealth strong risk management and  reports to Managing Director of Risk Process Digitization and Technology Execution, in USPB Risk CAO organization. 

The Wealth business is anticipating unprecedented business growth on a global scale amongst ultra-high net worth clients in the next decade and plans to develop new products and services to clients. The role offers a unique opportunity for a motivated risk/tech leader to contribute to Wealth business’ progress to strong risk management. 

What you’ll do

• • Serve as senior risk/tech expert and change leader to understand, guide and oversee process/tech centric initiatives in Wealth Path to Strong Plan
  • Identify, manage and escalate dependences/issues stemming from wealth business being a “bank within a bank” – with multiple retail, wholesale, counterparty, fiduciary and investment products risk requirements, and complex client aggregation needs.
  • Partner with first and second line SMEs for

o timely resolution of issues adequacy of compensating controls and

o well managed progress towards a clear & aligned tech program roadmap

• • Ensure process design, technology/business architecture and execution change proposals are

o appropriately vetted,

o fit for purpose and

o that risk requirements for managing the portfolio and attendant risks and controls are not compromised through the target state journey.

• • Lead independent assessments and targeted deep dives of prioritized risk processes and systems to

o  validate compliance to defined policies and requirements, and

o  identify gaps/concerns that warrant further management attention

• • Partner with USPB/Wealth Risk Data Oversight Director to review global data concerns and confirm materiality/impact to key wealth risk processes
  • Work closely with Wealth Risk Reporting leads, Business/Technology Leads and USPB Risk CAO shared analytics teams to improve digitization, data quality, timeliness and coverage of key management reports. Manage a direct team of six and partner with larger shared services organization to deliver on responsibilities.
  • Role also supports Wealth CRO and Wealth Risk Management with

o risk staffing & Senior Credit Officer capacity assessments,

o product program governance including coordination with Wealth-New Activities Committee.

What we’ll need from you

• • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or related Masters Degree preferred
  • Advanced understanding of credit risk management and regulatory risk reporting, with private client product knowledge, systems/process re0engineering and investments management a plus
  • Effective negotiation and credible challenge skills, at all levels of management.
  • Proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views.

The Audit Manager is an intermediate level role responsible for managing a team that is performing complex and critical audits and assessments of Citi’s risk and control environments in coordination with the Audit team. The overall objective is to recruit, develop, and manage an effective Internal Audit team, that ensures the firm meets audit standards and regulations in partnership with business leaders and the develop, execute, and evaluate audit plans. The role also includes taking direction from the audit senior manager and audit director to assist in other audit functions, including issue validations and risk assessments, in accordance with Citi’s internal audit methodology.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute audit plans
• Manage a small to medium sized team of Internal Audit professionals that delivers audit reports, in accordance with Internal audit and regulatory standards

• Apply an in-depth understanding of Internal Audit standards, policies and technology to a specific product or function

Qualifications:

The VP for Governance of CBNA-aligned regulations is an experienced regulatory professional who has the skills to interpret, develop policy documents and design an challenge controls for certain Tier 1 regulations. The individual will work in the first line of defense within CBNA's Head Office and ideally is an attorney or compliance professional and must have experience advising on most of following regulations: 12 CFR 5, 12 CFR 7 and Regulation Y. Experience in Confidential Supervisory Information-related regulations would be an advantage. The Client organization was established to drive enterprise-wide approaches to Client coverage, identifying and filling in gaps or reducing duplication to ensure consistency throughout the firm. • Lead the coordination of agendas, stakeholder communications, prepare materials, record minutes, and follow-up as needed on items for Governance Committees and management forums

The Audit Manager is an intermediate level role responsible for performing moderately complex governance audits and assessments of Citi’s risk and control environments in coordination with the Audit team. The overall objective is to utilize in-depth subject matter expertise to ensure that the firm meets audit standards and regulations and to work with business leaders to determine solutions for emerging issues.

Responsibilities:

• Consistently develop, execute and deliver audit reports focusing on governance of legal entities and geographies in a timely manner, in accordance with Internal Audit and Regulatory standards
• Review and approve the Business Monitoring Quarterly summary for in-scope audit entities and serve as lead reviewer for all reviews
• Collaborate with teams across the business and determine impact on overall control environment and audit approach
• Manage governance audit activities, leveraging all previous experience of auditing the area of governance to ensure audit remain on track and are executed to the standards required
• Leverage a comprehensive expertise to manage and coach a team
• Advise the business on change initiatives, while advancing integrated auditing concepts and technology adoption
• Recommend interventions to issues, propose solutions for risk and control problems, partner with Directors and Managing Directors to develop approaches for broader corporate issues
• Apply in-depth understanding of Internal Audit standards, policies and regulations to a specific product or function area

Qualifications:

• Effectively executes all service transactions (e.g. deposits, payments, address changes, replacement card orders, disputes, etc.) and sales (including opening accounts, credit cards, etc.) referral routines to deepen client relationships
• Adheres to and comply with Citibank policies, standards, operational controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures to ensure the safety and security of customer and bank assets
• Duties may include managing the supply of cash for branch needs based on business demand, in addition to managing incoming/outgoing cash shipments/maintains vault cash, including buying and selling of cash with branch Tellers and ATMs, as needed (including competence in using teller NBS system & cash recycler to assist customers)
• Good leadership skills and the ability to motivate others
• Actively promoting and  participating in branch incentive program(s) by promoting and participating in a sales and service programs consistent with Citi’s business plan goals
• Providing working leadership and guidance to peer Concierge or Tellers through assignment of work and technical guidance, when needed
• Assisting  and providing coverage for leadership team with leading by example
• Provide feedback to management on ways to enhance sales processes and service delivery
• Providing coaching and education to the other Concierge or Tellers regarding Digital capabilities,  transaction processes and priorities, including a streamlined sales & service process, digital first approach, focus on client problem resolution and effective utilization digital technologies
• Resolving complex client issues or needs; connect with relevant specialists or senior leaders as needed

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years relevant experience
• Required Skills:
  • Experience with face-to-face customer service, digital engagement and basic sales/referrals
  • Open, client service orientation and desire to help customers is required
  • Sales experience desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Basic computer and digital tools skills
• Preferred Skills: Retail experience

C13 – VP, Regulatory Oversight Support Lead  - The Regulatory Oversight Support Lead will be part of the Global Business Risk and Controls team within the CAO organization. This role is part of the MRA Oversight Function (“MRAOF”) to provide centralized oversight for in scope regulatory issues management.  The Regulatory Oversight Support Lead will help the MRAOF to identify, monitor and evaluate risks and issues against successful regulatory issue closure.

Responsibilities:

Provide on-the-ground support by performing oversight through the life cycle of MRAs
Work as an individual contributor within a small team to solve complex problems and implement solutions enterprise-wide 
Manage and prioritize activities based on business needs and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and drive continuous improvement 
Develop deep understanding of regulatory issue management and identify areas for improvement 
Work effectively with Internal Audit, Compliance and Risk Management who will provide independent validation of the deliverables and outcomes from the project 
Collaborate with stakeholders to action deliverables from reviews of the Program’s defined scope, target state, and success criteria to ensure it fully addresses the letter & spirit of regulatory feedback, broader supervisory expectations and underlying issues and root causes 
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
7+ years of experience with 3+ years or relevant experience in financial services industry
Established track record of effectively assessing and managing competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy
Proven ability to work independently and be self-starter.
Clear and concise written, verbal and analytical skills coupled with attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred:

3+ years direct experience in Internal Audit, Risk & Control functions at Citigroup preferred
History of interactions with Internal Audit, Compliance Testing and External Regulators
Proficiency in working in iCAPS/Citi’s Risk and Control platform, SharePoint and PTS-W/PTS 2.0
