General Assistant required for the Catering department, RMH Chelsea for kitchen prep, potwash and stores area.
Full time position, 37.5 hours per week , 5 days out of 7.
Experience in similar environment preferred.
The preparation of raw and cooked food, picking and packing of cook chill food, sandwiches and salad items for patients and restaurant. To undertake cleaning duties which are appropriate with the post and to assist the kitchen team with the patient, and staff meal service.

• Ensure as directed by the chef in charge that all relevant food items and accompaniments are made available to patients and staff prior to service.
• Chef’s Theatre duties to be carried out in line with Kitchen Rota
• Maintain a constant supply of food items throughout service periods.
• Clean down all equipment and put away all excess food items after service.
• Maintain a high standard hygiene within the work environment at all times, while observing departmental health and hygiene polices.
• Assisting in the safe production and monitoring of meals and catering services to the Dining Room, and Wards, in conjunction with the Catering Team.
• Communicate daily with your line manager and chefs/managers regarding food preparation, daily duties to ensure service needs are met.
• Liase with catering team including ward and retail staff members to ensure service requirements are being met.
• Inform the Head Chef/Sous Chef of any malfunction of catering equipment.
• Attend scheduled staff meetings to ensure you are up to date with any changes and updates within the Catering Service
