This post is to assist with the provision of high-quality cleaning within council buildings for the Facilities Management Team. We clean a variety of building across North Ayrshire estate which include, Schools, Nurseries, Day Centres, Offices, Libraries, Residential Homes, Depots and Sheltered Housing Units.

This post is term time and is based within Auchenharvie Academy. The working hours are 15:30 to 18:30 Monday to Friday.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and highly accomplished Assistant Housekeeper to be part of the team in Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree. The incumbent will play an instrumental role in upholding the brand standards of the Resort by assisting in the management and upkeep of all public areas within the Resort. The Assistant Housekeeper will be responsible for ensuring that our premises meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations: Supervise, and where necessary, perform cleaning tasks in public areas and common spaces. This includes lobbies, hallways, restrooms, meeting rooms etc. As part of the role, you would need to conduct regular inspections of such areas to ensure adherence to the prescribed standards of the Resort.
• Guest Interaction: You will also play the role of a Guest Ambassador by addressing any feedback from guests regarding the cleanliness and presentation of our premises.
• People Management: Assist the Executive Housekeeper in providing guidance to the team. You will need to cultivate a strong people culture by investing in the coaching and development of Associates. The incumbent will take ownership of people-management matters for the department including recruiting, upskilling and mentoring team members.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or professional certification in Hospitality / Hotel Management or an equivalent professional qualification in a related field.
• 4 to 6 years’ experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a property of similar standing.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.

About us:

The Ramakrishna Mission Boys' Home is a residential Home for boys between the ages of 5 to 18 years. The Home is run by the Ramakrishna Mission within its premises.

The residents go to local schools and return to the Home. The Home takes care of their needs and works towards reintegration with the family.

Responsibiites

The key responsibilities of the Assistant Housekeeper are to assist the Head of Home and the Premises Manager in managing the needs of the Home. It includes duties such as:

1) Assist in the preparation and serving of snacks during breaktime.

2) Ensure neat and tidy school uniforms, socks and shoes are ready. This includes teh appropriate attire for school (uniform or PE attire).

3) Assist in laundry and sorting of the children's clothings.

4) Ensure that bed linens are fresh and regularly changed.

5) Ensure that the upholstery is clean and neat.

6) Ensure sufficient stocks of housekeeping supplies.

7) Report safety and security hazards and malfunctioning of housekeeping equipment (such as washing machines) to the Premises Manager.

8) Be a team member in the ESR (Environment Sanitation Regime) by ensuring that the toilets are clean and stocked with toilet rolls and hand towels.

Primarily ensuring that the Home is clean and regularly disinfected.
