The Sport, Esports, Public Services, Travel & Tourism department at Barnsley College is offering an exciting opportunity for a Course Leader in Esports to join our team and provide invaluable support to students at this crucial stage in their education.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, learner-focused, and inspirational individual to enhance our already outstanding team. As Course Leader in Esports, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery and development of teaching, learning, and assessment activities. You will also promote independent learning beyond the classroom and provide additional one-to-one and group learning support across various curriculum areas.

About you
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated individual who can quickly build rapport with students and utilise a range of leadership and assessment techniques to support their success. As a Course Leader, you will play a key role in helping students achieve their full potential and progress towards further education, employment, and bright futures. You will be focused on ensuring outstanding outcomes by constantly challenging and stretching your learners, with an unwavering commitment to high standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting student success within an educational setting, along with a strong understanding of working with diverse learners aged 16+. A background in education and a focus on learner achievement is essential. You should also be adept at maintaining accurate records of attendance and progress.

Below is a list of some of the key skills, qualifications and experience we are seeking for this exciting opportunity.
Required
• Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject area or significant sector experience
• PGCE, Cert Ed or Level 4/5 teaching qualification (e.g. CTLLS/DTLLS).
Preferred
• Esports qualifications / certificates / badges
• A minimum of two years’ experience teaching students on FE programmes in Esports
