The Role
Our role profile tells the full story, but as a Tutor you will help and support customers to find and sustain employment through the delivery of accredited training which will enhance customers skills and confidence.
Typical work tasks can involve:
• Delivering training to learners, ensuring a supportive learning environment.
• Developing and deliver high quality engaging in-person sessions to learners addressing individual and group needs.
• Conducting initial and ongoing assessments of learner progress regularly, adjusting own teaching/tutoring methods to suit individual learners and support progression.
• Assessing and marking learners' work in line with quality and compliance guidelines.
• Make plans to support learners to achieve agreed qualifications
• Creating a positive, encouraging learning environment that respects individual experiences, backgrounds and capabilities of the learners.
• Advising learners on additional courses available.
This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 37 per week, however requests for part time hours will also be considered. This work is delivered across Cumbria and Lancashire so the ability to travel is essential.

About You
The successful candidate will be required to hold the following qualifications:
• Professional Qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject area at NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.
• Recognised teaching qualification e.g. PTLLS or Level 3 in Teaching and Education.
• Assessor Qualification or willingness to work towards.
You will be able to demonstrate:
• Previous experience of delivering vocational qualifications successfully.
• Experience is customer service, business administration or employability.
• A good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSE grade 4 / C or equivalent).
• An understanding of the issues and barriers to employment, education, and/or training.
• The ability to keep accurate and up to date records with a good attention to detail. This includes data entry on electronic systems
• Strong communication skills and the ability to respond to demanding pressures and to meet deadlines.
• An ability to work on own initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving.
