Location: St Pauls Care Centre, Long Mimms, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, HP2 5XW
Salary: £70,000 to £80,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week

St Pauls Care Centre is a warm and welcoming family-run care home, offering residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care to our residents. Situated in the accessible town of Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire and rated ‘Outstanding’ by CQC, residents at St Pauls Care Centre receive excellent care from our compassionate and supportive staff, who strive to make each resident’s stay as comfortable as possible while attending to their wellbeing.
We are now looking for a passionate, experienced and dedicated Home Manager to lead our team and maintain the excellence our care home is known for.
As the Home Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the care home. Your leadership will play a key role in maintaining the home’s reputation while offering vital support to both residents and staff.
You will have proven experience managing a successful care home, a positive, can-do attitude, knowledge of the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations and other relevant legislation (including HSE requirements), a strong understanding of governance and a passion for elderly care. Qualifications such as NVQ Level 5 in Management & Leadership will be beneficial, however are not essential.

About the role:
• Provide strong leadership to all staff members, inspiring them to deliver exceptional care and service
• Ensure the home is compliant with all regulatory requirements (CQC) and follows best practices
• Manage budgets, resources and financial performance to maintain a cost-effective operation
• Build and maintain strong relationships with residents, families and the local community
• Implement and oversee care plans tailored to the individual needs of each resident
• Create and maintain a welcoming, homely and luxurious atmosphere that aligns with our values
• Drive occupancy by ensuring the home is a desirable place for potential residents and their families
• Oversee staff recruitment, development and retention, ensuring continuous professional development
About you:
• Proven experience managing a successful care home is essential
• RGN Qualification and valid NMC pin number is beneficial, however not essential
• A solid understanding of CQC regulations
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a compassionate resident-first approach
• A passion for delivering high-quality care in a luxury, person-centred environment
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and drive financial performance
• Qualifications such as NVQ Level 5 in Management & Leadership is beneficial, however not essential
• Well organised with the ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment
