Applications are invited from committed, enthusiastic and experienced LSAs, providing a combination of individual support, small group intervention and class-based LSA work in KS1 or KS2.Cathedral Primary School (CPS) is a unique two-form entry primary school, based in the heart of Bristol in the lower floors of the historic Central Library building. With links to Bristol Cathedral and sharing outdoors space with our partner secondary school, Bristol Cathedral Choir School (BCCS), CPS offers extensive musical opportunities to pupils and is proud of its strong emphasis on music and maths. CPS is a Church of England faith designation school, reflecting the school’s strong links with the Cathedral, whilst continuing to welcome pupils and staff of all faiths or none. From September 2024 the school will be operating from two sites for at least one academic year; the main school building on College Square and also a newly refurbished building nearby, at the bottom of Brandon Hill for our Reception classes (EYFS). The move will accommodate some refurbishment work on the listed flooring in the main school building. The two sites are just 5 minutes walk from one another. The Head Teacher is looking to recruit an outstanding LSA who shares the vision for Cathedral Primary School as a centre of excellence for primary education, committed to inclusion and grounded in a strong musical tradition. The Head Teacher wishes to appoint individuals: Who are committed to supporting high quality learning and experiences for all children; With an excellent understanding of Primary provision and who is able to work closely with the Class Teacher and SENCo to support the learning of an individual child, adapting learning tasks as required; Ideally, with experience of working with children with either ASC, Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs or ADHD and associated needs; With experience of running small group interventions; Who are thoughtful and creative, with the ability to motivate children to give their very best; Who are patient, positive and resilient; Who are Team Teach / Positive Handling trained, or willing to undergo this training.
