• Recommending and implementing NIAID long-term strategic priorities worldwide, working collaboratively with NIAID Division staff, OGR staff, NIAID leadership, and the in-country representative(s), if applicable.
• Analyze advances and trends in global science and apply findings to the strategic planning process for complex biomedical research programs and initiatives.
• Recommend management improvements and implementation strategies to facilitate the effective achievement of identified OGR or NIAID goals, including identifying opportunities for world-wide resources-sharing, as appropriate.
• Serve as a NIAID global health expert and as a conduit between NIAID and research programs and opportunities worldwide by identifying and addressing cross-functional scientific and administrative matters that have a direct and significant impact on research planning and the effectiveness of NIAID operations abroad.
• Assist in the development of bi-lateral and multi-lateral agreements for biomedical research programs.
• Investigate and gather information to provide the NIAID OD and Divisions with a geographically-based analysis of NIAID's international activities.
• Provide advice on the development of international policies, collaborative procedures, and appropriate mechanisms for joint efforts.
• Counsel other NIAID senior staff on key scientific, programmatic, regulatory, and financial developments that directly impact the scientific programs and all management and business operations of the Office of Global Research.
• Collaborate with NIAID researchers or scientists to evaluate new opportunities for supporting research and other appropriate international collaborations.
• Foster bi-lateral and multi-lateral relationships through the development of cooperative research and public health relationships with international scientists and officials from various regions.

Senior Practitioner - Forensic Mental Health
Job description
37 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced and committed Senior Social Work Practitioner to join our regional forensic social work team at Caswell Clinic. This role will involve deputising for the Social Work Manager and supporting the wider Social Work Team. You will be required to work to social work standards specific to secure services and manage your performance within the legal framework of this area of mental health practice.

You will work with an established multi agency clinical team across the health boards and local authorities in South Wales. Work will include supporting vulnerable individuals in an inpatient setting and in the community. You will be part of the social work team in Caswell Clinic which allows areas of specific interest to be developed and you will have access to specialist training as well as opportunities to deliver training to a wider cohort.

You will hold a complex caseload of individuals who may present with complex trauma, attachment disorder, severe distress, emotional dysregulation and who may challenge care givers. You will be a resilient and boundaries individual, able to work in a challenging environment. You will need to have effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing representing the needs of the patients with integrity and sensitivity to the needs of the service.

The successful candidate will have a relevant qualification in Social Work and significant post qualification in mental health practice.

Based in Omagh, working 36 hours per week Monday to Friday 9-5pm, the successful candidate will work at an Executive Officer grade on a temporary basis, for our client's Pre-School Education Programme and support for the Pre-School Education Group (PEG).

The successful candidate will have excellent MS Excel skills including use of Pivot tables, graphs, look-up functions and formulas. They will also provide administrative support, follow set procedures, and exercise some independent judgement in carrying out instructions under general supervision.

The rate of pay for this role is £12.94 per hour.

Duties will include:

• Supervise staff including the allocation of tasks, checking output, quality and quantity of work, rotation and reallocation of duties or workload
• Ensure staff are appraised in line with the Education Authority's Staff Appraisal Procedures and assist in compiling a staff development plan for the team in accordance with the Education Authority's Staff Development Policy to maximise the potential of staff
• Provide administrative, clerical, and confidential secretarial support
• Arrange and service the PEG meeting and other relevant committees and working groups and draft minutes thereof
• Develop, maintain, and operate manual and computerised information systems in support of the service reviews and pre-school education

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare estimates from client's enquiry packages for review and pricing by the Proposals Manager.
• Review client specifications.

The Recruitment Co are currently working with a large Public Sector body in recruiting for a Senior Scientific Officer based in Hillsborough on a full time temporary basis.

The post holder during the duration of the UK-DELL project will report to the Project Director and will have a key role in the team leading UK -DELL - a multi-million pound DEFRA funded collaborative research and demonstration programme. While
the focus of the post is to support the delivery of the project, the post holder will also work closely with a dedicated project administrative officer, alongside the AFBI Finance, Research support and Corporate teams to ensure compliance with AFBI's corporate requirements as well. The main duties within the UK-DELL project and after completion will include:

Project Governance and Finance
* To work closely with the Project Director, Work Package leaders and the project management team , and the Steering Groups (involving project partners) to ensure the delivery of the project.
* To ensure that allocated budgets are handled in a fully audit able manner compliant with funder procedures, and to supply appropriate financial data to funder when required to do so.
* To collate, process, upload and check financial claims made by the Project Partners for the purpose of the project.

Project Reporting
* In consultation with Project Partners, to coordinate preparation of relevant scientific and technical progress reports (monthly and annually) and submit them to the funding body.
* In consultation with Project Partners, to coordinate inputs to the final Project Report.
* To produce financial reports on behalf of the research programme and to submit them to funding body as required.

Project Communications Plan (stakeholder management)
* To assist with implementation of the Project Communication Plan within and with consortium partners.
* To assist with coordination and delivery of various project events as detailed in the Project Communication Plan, including workshops, conferences, stakeholder meetings etc.

Specific Experience / Qualifications required

• A third level qualification at degree level (e.g. B.A.,B.Sc.).
• At least 3 years' experience of project management in a scientific or business context.
• At least 2 year experience of financial reporting within an organisation.
• At least 2 years' experience of stakeholder engagement and writing reports for funders / stakeholders
