Short summary

The Quantitative Stem Cell Biology lab, headed by Dr Silvia Santos, is seeking a Senior Laboratory Research Scientist (SLRS). The successful candidate will investigate spatio-temporal control of cell division and cell cycle remodelling during cellular differentiation using 2D and 3D stem cell-based models of human gastrulation. The postholder will drive a research project and contribute to collaborative projects within the lab. The postholder will benefit from excellent mentorship and training.

The research group
The Quantitative Stem Cell Biology lab, headed by Dr Silvia Santos, was established in 2018 at the Francis Crick Institute. The lab’s primary focus is understanding cell decision-making. Current areas of research include understanding regulatory mechanism regulating cell fate specification, cell cycle remodeling during cellular differentiation and the interplay between metabolism, cell cycle and cell fate. There is a strong focus on single cell analysis and advanced live cell imaging. The lab uses a variety of model systems: mouse and human embryonic stem cells (ESC), 3D organoid models of mouse and human development and mouse embryos.
The team is multi-disciplinary, diverse and currently composed of three PhD students, two post-doctoral fellow and one principal laboratory research scientist. The Santos lab promotes independent and creative thinking and all members are committed to providing excellent training and mentorship.

We are one of the largest cardiac MRI scanning centres in the UK. Our Imaging Clinical Research Facility is based in our St Thomas Hospital campus with strong research collaboration focusing on the development of novel acquisition, reconstruction and motion correction using different field strength MRI scanners. The facility is run by King’s College London, the University partner in close partnership with Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Trilateral Research is recruiting for a Senior Data Protection Advisor with proven expertise and experience in relation to data protection compliance to join our Data Protection and Cyber-risk service in the United Kingdom or in the Republic of Ireland.



As part of the team, you will be exposed to some of the most interesting data protection challenges of the day, which we resolve on behalf of our varied portfolio of clients. We deliver bespoke services to public, private and third sector clients in the UK and Ireland, supranational institutions, and international organisations. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be supported by a network of experts in delivering services to our clients on some of the most pressing issues of the day.  



The successful candidate will have an excellent working knowledge of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)/UK GDPR, and ideally have experience working with other privacy laws and frameworks. Good problem-solving skills are essential to this position, to support tailored data protection improvement and project management for clients. The Research Information Service (RIS) is part of the Library Services directorate within the House of Commons Library. It provides a range of information services to support the Library's eight research teams and POST. This includes the selection of information resources, provision of current awareness reports, training and support on the discovery and use of information tools and resources, reference enquiries, literature searching and bibliographic assistance for the production of briefings and publications.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as Senior Research Librarian. This vital role oversees the daily work of a team of embedded research librarians who work with researchers to ensure they have access to the information needed to support a thriving Parliamentary democracy.

The Role

Are you a people-focused and service orientated individual looking to make a difference in a unique library environment? Then consider a role in Research and Information at the House of Commons. This post oversees the daily operations of the Research Information Service to ensure the effective and efficient use of information tools by researchers and wider Library users. A professional qualification in library and information management is essential to this post.

Comprising around twenty people, the Research Information Service is a team of highly skilled information professionals who connect the wider Research and Information research community with the resources (physical, digital and human) they need to complete their work. The Senior Research Librarian will work closely with the Head of Service to ensure high quality service delivery in line with strategic goals and take responsibility for a range of projects.

Line management and a coaching approach are essential to this role. The postholder will be responsible for the direct line management of a group of Research Librarians in addition to deputising for the Head of Service in their absence.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

• Oversight of the daily operations of the department, deputising for the Head of Service in their absence and at other times as necessary.
• Acting as Senior Records Officer for the wider team, ensuring that information is maintained, accessible and archived in accordance with local policy.
