Based in the Facilities Team of Place Services you will be responsible for response led and regular inspections of the Council’s non-housing property portfolio to identify and instruct works to be carried out as a part of planned or responsive repairs and maintenance programmes.
Applicants must hold an appropriate building services related HNC, or equivalent, preferably with a minimum of 5 years experience within the commercial building services sector, and will be expected to have a thorough knowledge of building services, related plant and engineering trades and techniques. You will be mobile throughout the Council area. Applicants are required to be Gas Safe registered, ideally with commercial installations additional module.
You will liaise with premises managers, and with technical / professional staff within Invest Falkirk to discuss repair works, minor planned budgets and other relevant issues that affect the building services installations within our properties. You will issue detailed repair instructions to both relevant contractors, supervise the standard and timely completion of works, and check and agree invoices prior to payment.
You will have the ability to work under pressure on different projects simultaneously and be able to prepare regular progress reports for Coordinators and managers, whilst ensuring regular attendance at premises.
You will respond to emergency requests for necessary ad-hoc repair works and will arrange for appropriate remedial action to be taken. A formal standby scheme is in operation to cover out of hours emergencies and repairs, and the successful applicant will be required to participate in this scheme.
