Job Description:
To teach Sound Recording and Editing at Advanced Diploma Level
Responsibilities:
● Take on the role(s) as the Lecturer and Module Leader as assigned.
● To conduct and participate in lecture induction, class observations, and conduct staff development seminars.
● Design and develop high quality curriculum and course materials within the existing academic framework by partner universities.
● Prepare, deliver and conduct lessons according to the course syllabus and schemes of work
● Review and ensure all coursework and exam assessments (e.g. final outcomes) align with the intended learning outcomes of each module according to the course and module specification.
● Administer the setting and marking of coursework and examinations (e.g. via setting assessment briefs), conduct internal moderation of all coursework with assessment criteria and marking guides etc in alignment with the course and module specification. Schedule and prepare examination papers and assignments. Mark and grade all course work, assignments and examination papers
● Facilitate the internal moderation of all coursework and examination results in alignment with the course and module specification, before presentation to the end of term/course for review with the Academic and Examinations Board and university partner / external examiners board (if applicable)
● Facilitate university site visits, the university audits and program reviews.
● Conduct objective assessments on coursework and examination appeal cases.
● Prepare and conduct lectures and tutorials/workshops/lab sessions/studio sessions as assigned (including overseas if required).
● Lead and inspire students of the different disciplines.
● Review the student module evaluation and conduct the student focus groups or Student-Staff Liaison meetings. Provide feedback to Management about the continual improvement of the class performance and course proceedings at the end of semester/course/modules. Participate in programme review meetings.
● Engage in student development by providing strong learning support and monitoring of students’ academic performances. Provide necessary supervision to the students, manage and report students’ discipline issues to the academic staff in charge.
● Advise and counsel students with respect to academic performance, behavioural and disciplinary issues, career opportunities, and pursuit of advanced studies. Monitor the performance and progress of each student, including academic counselling.
● Develop online learning strategies with a duality of pedagogical functions (online learning, blended learning).
● Lead and support projects e.g. in developing courses with new or existing partner university or industry partner and prepare the documentation needed for the approval process.
Miscellaneous duties:
Other administrative duties/projects as assigned by Reporting Officer.
Participate in the school’s events, marketing campaigns and projects as required.
Requirements:
Preferably Master Degree in related fields or an equivalent Degree in related fields with 5 years of relevant teaching experience and professional work experience.
A post-graduate qualification in Education is an added advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of software; Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve (other Blackmagic Design-related software).
Remuneration will be commensurate with relevant experience.
