As Bid Writer, you’ll provide professional and high-quality bid writing support for bids, large and small, within our Bidding teams, specifically our Defence Business Unit. Working closely with the rest of the bidding team
- and thoroughly understanding the proposed solutions
- you’ll produce quality bids that meet the client’s brief whilst being visually engaging and compelling. This will include the production of written responses, storyboards, and other bidding collateral.

Your main responsibilities:

· Support the bid team in the creation of storyboards and to ensure these are implemented in the writing pathway.
· Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other colleagues and specialists to translate solutions and knowledge into crafted written responses.
· Create quality responses which are well-written, accurate, concise, and visually engaging. They will also effectively convey the required message, answer the customer’s requirements (including adherence to word counts, presentational requirements, and evaluation criteria requirements) and score well.
· When required, to conduct additional research to supplement bid responses including collation and presentation of relevant data.
· To incorporate win themes, USPs, sales messages, case studies and ‘hot button’ material into responses, aligned with APMP best practice.

What you’ll need to do the role:

· You will have experience of a complex and varied bidding environment (across different methods of procurement) and will have experience of managing multiple deliverables.
· Experience in Defence tenders.
· Highly competent in MS Office software with some experience of other tools and applications such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Project, Visio, etc. Skills around template creation and document manipulation would be advantageous.
· Excellent communication skills including relationship development and stakeholder management; individuals will be confident and articulate in all communications

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

· There are no specific requirements for qualifications for this role although the successful candidate will have previous defence bid writing experience and is likely to have a background in journalism, linguistics, or similar and must be able to write to a very high level (fluency, accuracy, correct messaging etc.).
· Familiarity with using AI within a writing process
· Practical understanding of Shipley
· APMP Foundation or higher qualification

We are looking for a Social Media Officer to join our team in Portsmouth.

We are looking for someone who is outgoing, engaging and creative. Someone with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and great attention to detail.

Roles & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- This role's core responsibility is to manage the day to day running of the Networks social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social platforms) and the SSEN website.

- Manage customer enquiries and complaints on social media, track network damage, maintain customer satisfaction above 9/10, update business webpages as requested, run social media campaigns aligning with business goals, and plan daily posts for the upcoming week.

We are seeking to appoint a Media Technician (Intern) to provide support for the department. This will encompass a range of duties, but the main focus will be maintaining our resources and working with students and staff in and out of lessons to offer technical support and workshops.
The department has recently benefited from significant upgrading of our already well-resourced Media and Film facilities. Lessons take place in dedicated teaching rooms with excellent facilities for photographic, graphic, HD film and sound editing where staff and students use the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. We also have a new and well-equipped studio space for video, chromakey and photography work. Students benefit from access to high quality Black Magic, Canon and Panasonic cameras alongside a multitude of high-quality accessories to support their work in lighting and sound.
The aim of the department is to enrich the learning experience of our students by delivering the syllabus in a manner which is contemporary, varied and challenging. The successful candidate for this position will be an integral part of helping us achieve this.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The ideal applicant for this role is someone with up to date media and film experience, who enjoys technical tasks and can demonstrate energy, common sense and enthusiasm whilst working in a fast-paced environment. It would best suit a graduate of a related degree who is looking for their first position and who is interested in working with young people. The role requires a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, a good and appropriate sense of humour and the ability to work flexibly. The suitable applicant will be someone who understands the ethos of the College and has a strong sense of resilience to work with both staff and students in a large and varied department.The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
● The technical ability to guide and advise students in the creative use of all departmental equipment/software (where possible training will be provided).
● The ability to create/maintain meticulous systems for stock organisation, ordering and replenishing.
● The ability to maintain a fully-operational studio space.
● The ability to set up the studio space and resources for student bookings, as well as facilitate those happening within the studio space.
● A professional and technically supportive approach to students and staff.
● Flexibility, patience and resourcefulness.
● A willingness to undertake first line mechanical servicing e.g. digital cameras and software updates (where possible, training will be provided).
● A willingness to participate in the lifting of heavy loads and the use of ladders, e.g. for hanging different backdrops and lighting setups.
● Strong communication skills and an enjoyment of team work.
● An ability to take responsibility, show initiative and solve problems with minimum supervision.Key Outcomes
